Hi sakura
are you relocating to the east?sakuratattoo:
Its a nice wednesday morning.
Rulang really stand out strong this year...
Think it is due to the top scorer last year lor...
I think for me, this is just the begining...
has such a long journey... like the \" journey to the west \"... my DS like the monkey king and i got to be like the \" Tang monk \"... :rotflmao:
DS already have school?
we still need to wait until the end of this month to register  . school we are eyeing usually still have slot in phase3. i just hope there are enough slots for foreigners. my DD already likes it there as many of her friends are already there.
oh, Good Wednesday to all mommies!
Long time no \" see \"..
No i am not relocating to the east, i am already staying in the east.
Secure a place at my first choice yesterday, so am waiting for the school letters now...
Dun worry, there will be enough slots as told by the governor.
You can check the MOE website to see how many slots are left for you and if you are located within 1km of the school that you have very good chance lor...
waaahhh!!
i mean West. hahaha. i know you are living here in east and working in west, right?
the school we like still have a lot of slot. but i think only limited slots for foreigners. last year they had balloting for foreigners in that school.
and i think balloting for foreigners is not dependent on distance. everybody have the same chance.

Wcw
Mine cannot go 1 to 1 tuition. He prefers learning in group.
and what they teach them?
is it tuition or enrichment? sometimes got mixed up
:? Is there a danger of killing the interest to learn if we pack them with too much too early. -
Wcw,
I consider enrichment as dancing, swimming, piano. Academic ones I call them all tuition. My boy attend berries. He looks forward to class. For math, he is now with math hub. He likes the games segment and because he is competitive, he doesn’t mind practice math at home so he can answer questions- and win tokens. If it keeps him interested in math, I may consider continue next year, else it will be just for this year. -
WCW,
I send my DS2 to Berries for Chinese to get a firm foundation. And Enopi Maths for foundation build-up too. The reason why I sent was that I did not send DS1 for such lessons before Pri 1. He took a while to steady the foundation ( not late, but could have been better ) and I felt that he had lost out to some others who started earlier.
The Pr 1 teachers have 30 students in a class, and not all can understand the what the teachers are teaching. After going through P1-P4 with DS1, I really think foundation is very important. The school education here expects the child to be fully ready when they get to P1.
DS2 will never get bored when he enters P1, cos his school will introduce heuristic maths etc… to challenge his thinking skills. If his foundation is solid, I believe he will find it fun to learn new skills.
That’s my two cents worth.
