Thanks for that. Does that mean that the school actively prevented people outside 1km registering at 2C? I'm trying to understand the mechanics when people register at different times and so might try their luck (even though they are outside 1km) before the final position is known.
Why doesn't MOE release the breakdown by distance? Seems like the info is available and is important to know, obviously. -

not too sure about that. But i know based on the details on their board there were 28 sc staying <1km and none under >1-2 and >2km registering at the end of day 2.
i registered on day 1 am session and im the last person in q (q #16) -

Ah, so the crucial distance information is posted on boards at the end of the day so those > 1km can withdraw in time to apply elsewhere.

Seems like the info is available and is important to know, obviously.[/quote]I guess for most of the top schools, by the end of Day 2 the parents will have already known that the no. of applicants for <1km has exceeded the vacancies. They are probably \"hoping\" that some parents < 1 km will give up the fight and go for another school instead, which unfortunately did not materialise. What I cannot fathom is that those 1-2 km did not withdraw, wasting their one and only chance to apply for a mid-tier school instead, which guarantees entry for SC. In the end, they do not get to ballot and have to settle for their 3rd or 4th choice schools. This is a real pity.
