Yup, they are indeed hungry. I was told by my neighbour that the Indian PR kids in my P1 girl's school are smart because they are coached by their mothers for homework and assessment till 12mn on school days.

We can see it through the Olympic games why China can win so many gold medals, cos they went through tough training starting from young.

the child needed? normally do parents go and witness the balloting?

It’s not conpulsory but there are parents who attend, even working ones, but best not to bring the child. It can be very disappointing if not successful.

I can’t believe so many children will not be able to go to their nearest (and presumably preferred) school under this process.

i believe more and more foreign Singapore citizen also.. that's y the demand is so high now..

Usually will have 1-3 school within 1km, but parents have preference for better school thus need balloting for the popular ones.
