1. My DS will be looking for Debate . Non CCAs (Euler/Galileo) & Maths Club. :?basically for core CCA - certain sports, every one is scheduled to be trialed and sort of ranked/grouped. If you are deemed to fit the sports and has potential, you are encouraged to put it as first choice.
after all the trials for sports and audition for others like choir etc are done, you rank your nine choices online and choices must include selections in every category
the computerised system will process the CCA selection and results will be made know. Hence it is often said it is the CCA that chooses you, not the other way round. Of course there are appeal procedures etc
everyone must have a core CCA, merit CCA are optional
CCA Fairs is held at end of orientation
2. Do all kids allowed to Participate in SMO,SChO, SPhO,SBO,NOI etc or only who in Euler/Galileo/Maths Club are allowed. :?

Keen to know on the class allocation method for yr 3 and 4 too. Anyone has infor on this to share?
Also is RA a two years course? If a student is selected and have accepted the RA subject, can he opt out of the course say half a year later, if he finds himself not able to cope or has no interest.
TIA -
RA at year 3 is for 2 yrs, yr 3 & 4
At yr 5, can re-choose different subject or continue the same subject since at yr 5 everyone has another chance to choose RA for yr 5/6 including those have never done RA at yr 3/4. That is what the notes say. Can download from stamford14.
RA is a pull out class. it is 8 subjects plus 2 RA subjects (pull out class) for those taking 10 subjects, or 7 + 2 for those taking 9 inclusive the max 2 RA -
Ok. I see. I clarified with my DS who is puzzled with my misunderstanding of the talk presentation. So if he takes on 2 RAs w/c are pull out classes, it means he’ll be burdened by only 10 subjects, inclusive of 3rd Lang. And not 12. Silly me. Sounds more do-able now. Tks. The presenter’s tone was not encouraging at all for those who intend to do 2 RAs.
I wish to PM to any seniors or parent who are going through or hv gone through double RA. Anyone can assist? -
