      arijit dasgupta:

thank you very much mathsparks, your words always make me feel comfortable,by the way how do you think my choices of school are ans my grades also.(i hope i am not wasting your time)

      ps:i live in jurong west
arijit, do you take chinese? else y you considering nan hua/rv? don't waste time travelling elsewhere for yr 2nd lang lessons. rv cop is too high, you're just going to waste yr 1st choice. if i were you, i would put bpghs, since that's the closest cop to yours. Then nan hua (if you do chinese), followed by commonwealth then swiss cottage. Though cop of both commonw n swiss c are the same at 238, commonw is a band1 school while swiss cott is band3. you know what that means right? check out annex a1 if you're not sure. now, arijit, I've given you my advice. don't be rude to me or I'm not gonna respond to you.

            hashroop:
i just got back from school. Very disappointed with my son's results..he got 179 . 2c and 2b. I dont feel like reading this thread anymore because i keep seeing \"oh ive got 230, or 240, or 260 etc etc..\" Im happy for the all those who have performed well but why couldnt one of them be my son. We sent him from tuiton A to tuiton B to tuiton C. Spent $$$. Burnt the midnite oil..Prayed and prayed but what is the end results???

Hope someone can feel what I am feeling now....
Hi ... never give up is the motto! And be with him... never leave ....

My son started Pri One with no knowledge of Chinese at all, only knew how to write his name, the 3 character, and cannot even read this own name in Chinese. For 5 years, we worked very hard every day, burnt midnite oil when ever needed ...... prayed ๐Ÿ™ to anything possible.. but he still cannot speak ONE full sentence in Chinese by himself, he was Primary 5, mark=around 62 no matter how hard we tried. Almost given up.... Almost need to request to drop the chinese subject for PSLE. feel like :stupid:

.... and realized that the fault was with me, NOT my son. ๐Ÿ˜ข Wrong method used etc etc etc. Talked to son, find out problem, resolved, work together etc.

Another one year of hard work every other day and never give up attitude, both of us, ..... 81.3 for prelim chinese, able to read in chinese finally, full passage, with funny \"ah mo\" tone, still....... able to do chinese oral finally.... and able to write proper chinese compo, finally.

And our rewards - A for Chinese PSLE (Targeted A* though ) and Higher Chinese for Sec One.

Informed my mom who was shocked - \" A for chinese ? Your the cute son who cannot understand and converse in chinese at all, one ? \"

My son still have a long to go even if he scored a \"A\" in PSLE ..... for example he still cannot repeat after \".... ๅธฎไฝ ๆŠŠไป–็š„ๅฟƒ็ป™ๆŒ–ๅ‡บๆฅ๏ผŒๆ‹”ๅ…‰ไป–็š„็šฎ๏ผŒๆŠŠไป–็ ๆˆๅๅ—ๅ…ซๅ—, ็ป™ไฝ ๅƒ๏ผโ€œ .... at least he can understand and will LOL with us. We will work harder next year for his chinese speaking ...etc

So never give up..... on your son :salute:

              Thanks mathsparks for your suggestion.

But I don't think it is accurate because I did exactly as you said and a list of schools came out & Nanyang is one of them.

But I think at 257 my daugther dont qualify to nanyang.

Which school you will to send your girl to, if say your girl get 257 ?

              Thanks

My son has aggregate of 245, he wants to go to Victoria (COP=246), wonder whether is there any chance?

I stay in the east. What about Anglican High ? Is it a good school ?

If your girl get 257 & stay in Tampines, do you prefer to send her to SCGS or Anglican High ? I ask because I am in a bit of a dilemma. I think SCGS is better but if she goes to SCGS, she got to travel quite far (I am not even sure if there is there a bus to SCGS from Tampines ?) where as if she goes to Anglican, the distance may be nearer even though Anglican may not be as prestigious as SCGS.

I really dont know what to do. What you think ? What will you do ?

                      Thanks

                        Hi!
If I were you, i choose Anglican High. or Dunman High (what's the COP?) to me, distance is quite important. i dun wanna my child to travel so far to school, even if i drive the child to school, it still time...
