Hi edgrace,
There is discussion on how to prevent \"cheat' in other thread:

Just a thought:
Instead of fighting a 'lost cause' we can use this forum to brainstorm ideas how we can prevent 'cheats' instead. This way, we can suggest these ideas to the relevant authorities should anyone decide to write in.
Here's an idea i had.. Make changing addresses at the NPP more stringent. Anyone can change the address on one bill. Maybe we can suggest that prove of home ownership/rental is required during the process? So we can avoid people from using friends' addresses... As for people MOVING IN one year, one month, one week or even one day before registration... Gee, that's going to be a tough one. It may be immoral, but legally, there's no discrepancies there...
Any ideas anyone? -

Steamystream wise choice.... Come to smps, great school as well. Your girl will love it there trust me. It's really much of a muchness between scgs and smps, so far smps looks far less competitive. Don't regret later when you are stuck choosing between BHPS or First Tayoh. Those are really 3rd rate schools. Smps v scgs very marginal difference. Both schools produce young ladies who grow up to be high flying professionals and well rounded mothers. That's more than I can say about plan C schools.
You are very noble. :scratchhead: You are registering SMPS under P2C and you are calling parents to join you. I belive now SMPS needs ballot right? :frustrated: Or you have switched to SCGS?

most of the residents staying < 1km from SCGS, are they located less than 2 km, or > 2km from St Margaret ? -
Those staying <1km around SCGS are most likely to be >2km from SMPS

I wonder where are the 21 parents going to send their daughter’s to if they don’t not get into SCGS…?
Not many all girl schools left!
Will be nice if SCGS opens another class, wonder if that ever happens? -

Not sure about SCGS but was told by ACPS Admin Manager that there was a precedent of opening another class, just a few years back which children were born in the year of Dragon.I wonder where are the 21 parents going to send their daughter's to if they don't not get into SCGS...?

Marymount left 24 seats, for P2(C) Supp.

Cannosa Convent also got seats.
else the 21 parents can write in appeal to SCGS Principal, see if can open extra new class to absorb them. -

SCGS has done away with admission tests only for P1, or for All levels including P2 to P5 as well ?Yes, SCGS has done away with admission tests. I am not sure if this is a good or bad news. To me, admission tests are more objective and everyone stands equal chance.
Now without admission tests, what will be the criteria? First come first served on the wait list?
i agree with you that without admission tests as a gauge (especially for P2 to P5), it is even harder to decide who to offer to, should a vacancy arise. Different primary school have different standard. The admission tests provide a common platform to assess every individual student - regardless of which primary school pupil comes from. Now everything is subjected to the sole discretion of SCGS Principal / VP.
