SCGS has done away with admission tests only for P1, or for All levels including P2 to P5 as well ?


i agree with you that without admission tests as a gauge (especially for P2 to P5), it is even harder to decide who to offer to, should a vacancy arise. Different primary school have different standard. The admission tests provide a common platform to assess every individual student - regardless of which primary school pupil comes from. Now everything is subjected to the sole discretion of SCGS Principal / VP.

Maybe affected parents can lobby for the following:-

1) Priority to SC
2) Priority based on distance (within 1km, 1-2km and >2km)
3) If there are more than 1 SC within 1km, then the 1st in the queue who qualifies get the place.

The queue list should be made available for inspection to all potential transferrees to ensure transparency. When a vacancy arises and a student is admitted, it should be recorded there for all to see.

We don't want to see any sleight of hand by the school especially now someone comes here to say she got connections! :evil:

is there any SC PV under 2B didn’t get into SCGS this year, or ALL PV got in ?


if there is an SC PV under 2B didn’t get in -
normally they’re given priority over 2C in recognition of their "contribution" to school, should a vacancy arise - since now no more P1 admission tests.

i stay within 1km and would also like to do PV for the school. but what is the selection on PV based on? really keen to know. and how many PV will the school take?
