before allowed to close down his agency just like that, did those parents who had signed up & paid up thousands of $$$ - request for refund ? They should ! don't know whether he'll refund or not.

right from the beginning, he already decide to con. Con not just over 1 aspect, but many areas ... until reporter go and dig into his background, liaise with NUS officials, with MOE, etc. Everyday he tell lies to parents, eyes unblinking.

for how many years did Ong manage to cheat many gullible parents successfully, before he was finally caught this time round ? He must be rich liao, ripping off so many parents ! so easy for him to just say \"close the case\" & walk off like that ?

right now, besides Ong, who else like him in the Education market, also giving GEP tests ? reporter ought to target next fellow like him.
Today Aristocare falls but new ones will spring up. Based on recent ST reports and KSP threads, other than Aristocare, there are other providers of GEP training and tests including Dr Peh, MindStretcher, Global etc. If you go to their online websites, their credentials and track record look equally impressive.

For argument sake, if one opts for anyone of these centers, who kind of minimal verification information that experienced forumers here would be asking for? How does one verify the claimed results/outcome, by word of mouth?

Perhaps there should be a study or research by ST or MOE to examine the \"secrets\" of success in these centers, exactly what methods or techniques that are used that can produce such astounding results? Do the students or teachers or teaching materials actually make the difference?

These info may well be useful to MOE to improve teaching in our schs!

Similar studies can be conducted for the many types of special techniques and approaches provided by the various centers (right, left, total brain training or whatever secret kungfu Panda manual)
Let's say I want to engage a private tutor who claimed to be ex-teacher of so-&-so school 5 years ago & has produced x & x students who scored A* in PSLE.

First, will there be a cert or letter from the Sch he/she taught in? If they claim ex-student info confidential ..... then???

If the person is an ex-teacher, he/she should have a NIE grad cert \"Bachelor of Education\" or something.

Once i tried a \"ex-school teacher\" who claimed a lot of blah blah blah successes. I asked him to bring his NRIC and certs on the first lesson, he said he forgot. He told me he was 35 yrs old, but looked 55. He insisted to be paid per lesson (quite fishy). Anyway, he was \"sacked\" after the first lesson due to the fact that he told me he's 35 but i'm quite sure he looked at least 55.

Could it be being a teacher too stressful , every night burn midnite oil to mark paper plus never äæå…» so look 20 yrs older
I doubt. Cant be wrinkles on face (forget face cream) and hand (not enough hand cream) and even action (no energy to walk) right?? He definitely look at least 50. Ok.... even if he's really 35, then why he forgot to bring his NRIC and certificate???

May be because he did not register his business, thereby no need to pay income tax. With this they can also charge him rite. 🤷

I suspect so. I've this book and it looks fine. The various methods are actually taught in schools but the teacher may not have put them in a book, and categorised it as \"Branching method\", \"Cross multiplication method\", etc.

Parents, one thing to remember is that, there are many methods to do a problem sum. Dont restrict your child to use only one method. Therefore, if you have this book, use it as a guide. Honestly, a good book.

hahaha.... may be this book is written by someone with a Math major from NUS. Perhaps everything in the book is correct except for the name
