    Condensed milk with water

      Just saw on C N A that VB says he is shocked tt a family feeds the children with condensed milk and water.


      I grew up on that. Price of milk powder has tripled over the decade. Has our salary tripled? Even condensed milk is not cheap.

      Shocking? Or rather awakening :yikes: :lightrod:

        :hi5: me too! I love it as a kid - warm water with condensed milk. But it was nit as a substitute to formula milk. More like a substitue for sweets and juice.

        I think he is probably coming from the perspective of nutrition, instead of raising costs?

                    my mother fed me with that too in a glass bottle (RC cola I think) because could not afford to buy a proper milk bottle :oops:

                      I grew up drinking milk made from condensed milk + hot water. My mum tried to get me the better brand condensed milk and even that was hard to come by.

                        I remembered back then there were brands such as blue cross, lady general etc. The condensed milk was used to feed babies and adults (for the coffee)
                        alike.
