Travel: China - Hong Kong

i am gg there next mth..

been hk quite a number of times and i notice the mtr
stillnot very stroller friendly but cos i am
bringing my kids to ocean park this time,
isit easy to bring stroller up the their bus and
does their taxi take 4adults and 2 kids aged 3 n 4yrs?

any help appreciated..tia

MTR - most stations have lifts but may be quite out if the way and need to wait as lots of people pushing trolleys.

Bus - Newer ones are like buses in SG and people bring loaded trolleys on buses so its managable.

Mini-bus - Tougher but manageable if you park your stroller in front near driver or hold onto it.

Taxi - Most can officially sit 5 adults unless its the newer taxis so can squeeze if you don't mind and the journey is short.

Wondering what to do with yourself, or the family on these long, hot rainy Hong Kong days? If you are bored of traipsing around  soulless shopping centres or cringe at the idea that Sunday brunch is the highlight of your weekend, then you are in for a treat if you head over to Tsim Sha Tsui to the Hong Kong Museum of History.  From July 25th to November 26th Hong Kong will host a formidable terracotta warriors exhibition called “The Majesty of All Under Heaven: The Eternal Realm of China’s First Emperor” and it’s set to be the best exhibition in Hong Kong this year.

We didn't go to the one here ( :oops: didn't know there was one), but dh went to the one in Hk recently.

Entrance fee was $10 (on the day he was here), not too big an exhibit but my bil who is very keen n knowledgable in china history was able to explain things which made the trip enjoyable. Very crowded though and dh said it is better to join the guided tour.

[/quote]Thanks for the reply , LOLMum. When the exhibits were here in Singapore last year (between June to Oct 2011) , we brought my dd to the Asian Civilization Musuem to take a look. We were lucky to be able to join the guided tour (only specified days and timing). The guide (one of our locals) was very knowledgeable and passionate so my dd thoroughly enjoyed the whole exhibitions. She went home with souvenirs and went on to learn more about Terracotta and Qin dynasty through the Internet.

If it is the same exhibits, there is this replica half life-sized bronze chariot which is comprised of about 1000 small parts that they flew over from China. It took 4 China shifu to assemble it up. Really spectacular. :salute:

All in all, I find it is really educational.
