http://www.channelnewsasia.com/stories/singaporelocalnews/view/1219552/1/.html
\"Enormous\" problems if Singaporeans don't procreate: Lee Kuan Yew

\"If we go on like that, this place will fold up, because there'll be no original citizens left to form the majority, and we cannot have new citizens, new PRs to settle our social ethos, our social spirit, our social norms. So my message is a simple one. The answer is very difficult but the problems, if we don't find the answers, are enormous,\" said Mr Lee...

Ah Gong very fierce after NDP... :yikes:

Yes, indeed fierce but Ah Gong is always right. 😂
Remember the graduate mothers scheme? Always right? 😄

Like others mentioned, he thought it was right at that time, but due to an outcry during the elections in 1984, it was eventually scrapped.

Can't resist not to post this... very nostalgic... and \"in your face\" 🦆
They don't make posters like they used to...
Perhaps can start a \"More than 2\" poster campaign... 😆

Yes, they should start a new campaign that Two is Never Enough.

I think everyone makes mistake. Heck, LKY don’t even have the experience to run a country before, but he took it in his stride and turn it around. So that’s good enough for me. Of course there will be mistakes in his policy but seriously I don’t think anyone can do better than him. The younger ministers get to learn from the more senior ones but where do you think LKY learn from. I think should cut him some slack lah.

Agree... making some mistakes does not take away the fact that he has made great contributions to Singapore and definitely he's irreplacable. We must give credit where it's due.

It's just that the statement lky's \"always right\" just doesn't sit well with me.

The graduate mothers’ scheme in the 1980s, which gave priority in school registration to children of graduate mothers, over non-graduate mothers was deemed discriminatory at that time. It assumes that graduate mothers would produce more intelligent kids who will benefit the economy. Glad it was scrapped.

Just my opinion... of course I still think he is a very great leader who has brought Singapore to where it is today. Not many leaders can command the respect that he has world-wide. 😄

Not only this.. I guess he wanted an all-bus system instead of the MRT. But the then transport minster somehow managed to proceed with the MRT.

If all bus system, and got not enuff drivers (like now, saw some report that mentioned got enuff bus but no drivers).. the public transport will be crippled..
