2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

MMM:
You might want to consider putting your child on MBS's waiting list. Along the way, there will be kids who transfer out of the school due to various reasons and there will be new ones joining.
Thanks. All losing balloters had been issued a form for wait list application, which we can only submit after registering a school in phase 2CS (maha bodhi requirements). The wait list is going to be long, but yes, an outside chance is better than none. -
CMF:
Thanks.. will be placing myself on waitlist for maha bodhi and a couple of others. And yes, I think voluntary submission of results is great advice. While some schools like maha bodhi require recent results for consideration, some others don't. For those schools who don't, your good results might catch their eyes quicker than the other waitlisters (I guess).I sympathize with your situation. Do not lose heart. All is not lost. Place your child's name on wait list(s) at school(s) you would possibly like him to attend. Different schools have different criteria for admitting transfer pupils should there be vacancies.
Whichever school that your child may be admitted to in the meantime, try to make the most of it and academically if he does well there, submit the results at each juncture (CA1, SA1 etc) to each of the wait list school(s), it will be useful additional info for the school(s) to have on hand should a vacancy arises for it to consider accepting transfer student(s). -

Some info on transferring to another primary school : http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1107
A good read there.. thanks. -

BTW you may wish to find out from each school you are wait listed on, the \"period\" your wait listed status is \"valid\" for, as some schools may require you to \"update\" your intention to continue to be wait listed over a certain period. All the very best to you and all others in similar situation.Thanks.. will be placing myself on waitlist for maha bodhi and a couple of others. Wow, didn't know that... thanks for reminding and good luck to you and children. -
I hope parents, who need to go thru p2cs and don’t think the choices of schools left are good, don’t forget that your kids are watching you.
How you feel about the school might affect your kids’ experience in their schools too. If you don’t feel the schools are good, I’m guessing you might not think highly of the P and teachers too. Going to Primary 1 is an exciting time for the kids. The kids might not enjoy if you think their schools are rotten or that the P and teachers are not worthy of respect. -

Be positive! Give the school a chance, nothing is static.... there may be movement of principal or teachers..... a good cohort..... the human factor is more important.
You may also get a place in your wait-list school before next year.
Good Luck to all going for P2CS. :rahrah: -
