Renewal of contract without agent

Hello…

I bet your estate agent will have kept very quiet about the automatic renewal process, in the hope that you will pay them another fee.

There need not be anything in the tenancy agreement about automatic renewal. Statutory means by statute. In other words the government already made this condition. You need only to continue accepting the rent.

Hi, I have bought insurance and IG from NTUC and renewed my maid work permit online. On MOM work permit approval letter, it stated that I have to bring original completed Security Bond Form, may I ask:-

(a) I have bought IG from NTUC, do I still need to complete this form?
(b) Below is what I copied from the letter, who is supposed to sign on this letter?

Hi,

recently renewed my maid's contract.

I did not really source around for insurance, I just grab the one which is more convenient for me. I bought income. The insurance i bought also help to renew the work permit, security bond etc. with courier service to pick up the documents from me from my home.

My maid's passport will only expire in another 3 yrs. So she do not need to renew her passport. So I'm unable to comment on this.

Hi, I renewed my maid last year but she is going back this year so in the process of getting a new maid....So impression is still quite clear.

For passport, if the validity is more than 2 years, there is no need to renew. However, if the validity is less than 2 years, it is recommended to renew the passport first before you renew her work permit. Otherwise the work permit is only valid up to the passport expiry date. Then you have to go through the entire renewal process again... So might as well just do it right the 1st time round. Mine is indo maid so I did the renewal at the embassy by myself.

Note that there are complications for indo maid if she is going back on home leave and she does not have ktkln card. There is another discussion on this. For this, you will need to ensure that you get a new working agreement drafted as well. Also, you need to remember to do the home leave stamping at the embassy.

For insurance, we got AIA. Bil is a agent so I did everything through him. Eg. submit the form, credit card details and he will tell me when to go online to apply for renewal. Seems to be fuss free. As my maid was with us for 5 years, I went for a mid plan for her so that better medical coverage. I didn't go for bond protector as it is lower risk.

WP Collection was fairly fuss free too as I think we can make appointment? I went on saturday morning and was done within 30 mins.

If she is going back to Indo for home leave and need to do her KTKLN card, pls ensure it's drafted by the embassy. Only theirs is recognised.

My Phil helper's passport is expiring before her work permit, I intend to renew her contract so I have to renew her passport prior to that. I was told to produce an authentic contract endorsed by their embassy, and this endorsement needs to be supported with bond and insurance, I am trap this time coz the agent did not issue any of this document to me when they first handover my helper to me. If the agent knows that I am renewing myself instead of engaging their service, I seriously doubt they will release the documents, blame myself for the oversight... I am at my wit end, can you advise me?

What is this authentic contract?
Is it the maid's working contract? Thought all employers should have a copy.
