Yes, my view is d difference is likely insignificant in $ sense.
      No disagreement with that.

But since someone asked.. no harm answering.

the amount of heat loss during the boiling process of the same amount of water at the same starting temperature may be different due to the different kettle size / surface area and power rating as has been explained in the few posts above.

notwithstanding the heat loss to be quantified that caused some differences in energy consumed, it also generated some heat among the different forumers in the above few posts...this heat generated is hard to quantify.....

Motor weak ... That is y some ppl rather spend more on reliable brand fan that can last longer.

err.. where's your original post ar..?

If got wear and tear.. is it noisier than before? maybe add a bit of WD40 at the bearings? Another possibility is corrosion at the electrical contacts.

                    Imami:

Talking about fans, can someone help me – not sure if it is my imagination but I think my wall fan is not as effective as before. initially, power 1 is good enough. After two years, power 1 like cannot make it, need power 2. Recently, I realise power 2 also like not good enough… haven’t ‘upgrade’ to power 3 yet, cos I find it too noisy. Is there such thing as deterioration in performance when it comes to fan? Like power 1 cannot make it already?

                    Do you clean it..?
Dust, particles build up could introduce friction and making the fan \"less easy to turn\".
                    Especially for the bearings.
Your fan may draw more power to turn at the same speed, or, draw same power and turn at reduced speed.. due to extra need to overcome friction.. How it works, depends on the circuitry of the fan.. so can't comment..

                    This one la, Limlim.

Oh.. maybe you become more \"hot\" now so the fan can't satisfy you as much..

Anyway.. try putting a little WD40 on the bearings?

  me becoming more \"hot\"..... :rotflmao: :rotflmao: let me tell my hubby about it! :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Seriously, I suspect it's the fan getting \"weaker\". The thing is I have fans in my whole life that it is weird that such a condition is happening only now. The previous fans performed the same from day one till the last, I had never felt they getting \"weaker\". So it is really a little strange for me.

I will let hubby know about your suggestion, see what he say.
                        :thankyou:
