Hi mummies! My eldest is a Jan 2010 baby. Recently, I have been cracking my head and thinking what kind of activities or assessment that I can start introducing to her?

She is 2yo now and not attending any playgroup. Anyone is like me? Not sending your 2010 babies to any enrichment classes?

Appreciate if mummies could share what are the stuffs you are teaching your kids at home?

                bliss,

mine only goes to a enrichment classes for 1.5hrs at sat…while at home…i buy assessment books for writing…those dotted lines big books…i got them in A-Z in caps, a-z in small letters, then got numbers, and also chinese version also for the numbers…

got plenty of flash cards…got pictures flip chart with alot of theme. then i also borrow books and read to him the way the teacher in the class teach them. and also rent those dvds from library to let him learn chinese while he’s eating loh…(bad habit i knw to watch tv n eat but no choice…market spoilt by maid n MIL le).

i have a-z and number stickers but not quite a good investment thou coz he will go pluck them out 1 by 1…

oh ya, i also bought the tear n paste books at popular to engage him in activities…they have alot n he love to paste paste paste…comes in puzzle picture and fill in the square with the correct picture and some got description then ask them find the correct picture to paste…quite fun but messy on the uhu glue part…

                hope the above helps.

                        HI bee,

erm…coz his enrichment class during the weekend is already introducing them with dotted line worksheet every time…i jus follow their learning schedule and bought books at populars…

he still duno how to write on his own yet but it does encourage him to pick up a colour pencil / crayon to draw circles n lines on paper…(previous totally refuse to touch the colour pencil / crayon at all.)

then either the maid or myself will hold his hand n write loh…starting tt time only can write 1 line n he will fed up n wanna go awy le…after 3weeks of persistant teaching…he can sit down n finish 2 pages of writing n 1 page of colouring without making a fuss.

just started letting him go into indenpendent enrichment class last sat…heard from the teachers he cried awhile after noticing i was missing…but when a familar teacher comfort him…he stop n con’t with the class…(phew…i tot it was gonna be hard)…this is to prepare him go N1 next year when i switch him to the kindergarden near my place…

he had been going to the centre since 18mths with parent asisted programme once a week. so more or less quite familiar with the teachers…now he’s 25mths le, so the teachers there encourage to let him go non parent asisted programme.
