      Hi Rejoice,

Hope you had an enjoyable Hari Raya weekend amid answering all the parents' Q&A. ๐Ÿ˜„

I have been kept busy with my girl's \"little hill\" of school homework and her preparation for CA2. P4-5 still have 2 more papers after the holidays.
On top of it, she still has her tuition homework and revision... :nailbite:

To your point on school homeworks - yes, as they slowly promote to higher primaries, the homework also level up, so we need to start them young and prepared them mentally when they are in P1&2.

We don't normally plan holidays, other than March/June/Sep and December. When i read that you used the PSLE as holidays, i can't help laughing..sorry. I guess that's norm for first time P1 parents... ๐Ÿ˜‰

      Beauty,
Some teachers may jump topics but eventually all are covered in time for SA1 and SA2. So not to worry on the jumping topics.

      Regards,
      Astee

        Hi Astee,

Haha. Yes, first time P1 parents just canโ€™t wait for kids to get out of school for holiday. Hahaha. I am glad that at least for P1 & P2 kids, this long weekend came after their CA2 so they can at least have a break after the stressful week :-). Wonโ€™t think of using next PSLE break for another holiday this round, hahaha.

When I gave DS1 more assessment to do preparing for CA2, he complaint I gave him too much, sigh. Looks like he is going to get a surprised when he goes P3 next year though I keep telling him about his P3 workload :-(. Oh well, they are very good at adapting to changes so hopefully he will do just fine. Hahaha.

          Hi Cmum,

Well said. You can always drop by too to tell us about what happen to your precious one in the new school. I am sure there will be lots of good stories to share too ๐Ÿ˜„

Time sure flies. Very soon term three will be over and year end is just around the corner. Besides putting in the final effort to help DS to get ready for SA2, I think I should start shopping for a hood alarm clock to train both DSs to wake up with the alarm instead of relying this walking alarm.
          Hi rejoice,

Sure, I will definitely share here. ๐Ÿ™‚

            Hi CMUM,

Used to see KCPP distinctive girls' uniform- not pinafore. But recently saw a new version. At first tot was a student leader style but no ties or badges. So the sch is changing to new uniform? U know for boys, no special styles for ages. It just gets from shorts to Bermudas to pants! My criteria was uniform shorts must be dark colours. In fact, was very happy the 3 pri sch choices in my radar all wear black sch shoes ha ha.
            Hi Ninjago,

I am not aware that they are changing to a new uniform. I hope the new uniform is nice, as I don't really like the design of the current (old) uniform. As for school shoe, black colour is always welcome and a plus to all mummies, especially FTWM. My friend keeps asking why her daughter's school is still using white shoes instead of black. Would be good if it's black coz it's really maintenance free compared to white shoe.

Yes, black shoes really a big benefit for mums like us. I think all schools should just use black shoes since white shoes will turn black eventually anyway, haha. Besides black shoes, I secretly wish that all schools will use collared polo shirt as uniform instead of cotton shirt. It is more comfortable in our hot weather plus it is iron-free, haha. I like TGPS pants as it does not require ironing. But the uniform still require some ironing. Being white, it is very easy to get dirty and my DSโ€™ uniform is no longer just white. It has blue and red spots all over now :-(.

Just couple of months back, we did receive letter from school for a survey of after school care proposal. In this way kids will stay in the school compound and be taken care of. Also no need to arrange for separate transportation for CCA or enrichment classes. The only thing is that they will only get to mix with kids from the same school and not from other schools. Good and bad about it. So I still vote to support the idea.

Actually some schools are wearing collared dri-fit T for all ocassions. It is neat-looking when wore in class n same time is a sports T. And Hong Wen primary has a special Chinese knot on the collared T which is their uniform. I was hoping to see such change as I hate ironing. But kinda disappointed when saw TGPS changed their PE shirts to the colourful ones ... Cos no way there will be changes for another 5 to 6 years.

                        Hi concern_mum,

I went without a maid middle of last year after my maid terminated the contract earlier. After much consideration, we decided not to get another helper. It was really hard to juggle between house work, taking care of the kids and working at the same time. I worked half day at home for the 2nd half year last year so that I could cook lunch and took care of my kids after their schools. This year I put them in student care so that I could go back to work in the office in the afternoon. Now finally started to get used of the routine except for the daily packed lunch as I have to wake up very early in the morning to prepare breakfast and lunch for them. It is very hard for me to stay awake in the evening to enjoy family time and couple time :-(. So I really hope that the school can revert back to the normal dismissal hours so that I don't have to do the packed lunch again next year and my boys have ample of time to have their lunch daily. If you gonna go without maid next year, do be prepared for a time when you need to adjust to the change in routine and workload. Having support from the family and spouse is very important to tide through the difficult time. But after more than 1 year without maid, I never regretted. Now my boys are more independent and spouse is more helpful. So I think it is a good move but a hard one. All the best to you.
