We can't have our cake and eat it too. So the best advice is only accept the DSA CO for a school you really want to go to and not a second choice school.

You are right. A friend of mine also advise that, if you receive a WL of the first choice and CO of the second choice, you should still put the WL as the first choice. I think that is wise.

Have anyone tried to appeal to more than 1 school? Also, it is indicated in the PSLE booklet that it is merit over choice so does it mean that I can choose the schools with a higher COP as my top choices and the ones which I am within the COP range in the lower choices. Unfortunately in the very sad situation of being chosen instead of being able to choose.

Normally, with 1 or 2 points away from COP, a child will have high chance to win appeal, however, if a child has extraordinary talents in any areas will be great help in the process of appealing.
