      3chips:
 Oops! Sorry! My silly! Thanks for clarifying. It makes more sense PSG is Parent Support Group than Primary School Girls!!! It was a wild guess! There's much to learn. I feel overwhelmed to think about the many things to settle. School bags, shoes, books, whether she'll settle in well, transport, etc... I guess I'm kancheong becoz she's my only girl and 1st born!

Welcome to the forum 3chips! I am learning too, so dun worry!
My girl is in p2 this year and she likes school a lot!
I am sure yr princess will enjoy too!

Thanks miffymiffy! I’m really glad to hear from parents of present girls like yourself and nms1! Lots to learn from you! Yup! She’s the princess alright! She’s the only girl so we very manja her! But then again, who doesn’t love daughters?!

Ya, are they stressed out by homework? My dd gets homework at the end of the week now at her kindy. It’s like 1 worksheet of Maths, 1 English and 1 Chinese and 1 storybook to read.

Does the PSG organize any gatherings for newbie parents to learn more about the school activities, culture and updates please? It would be a great help!

              Hi 3chips
True! Our princesses are our dearest!
My girl is not given a lot of homework but actually
I was Hoping her teachers can allocate more.
Sometimes she seems so free after school and mummy
Is wondering how long her honeymoon is going to last.
So no choice lah, mummy send her for enrichment classes
              On certain days.

Hee! Miffymiffy, u sound like a fun mum! Is it becoz u don hve to sit down and help your princess with her homework? Even with the little homework that my little dear has, I hve to arrange a time for her and sit with her to do it.

So I’d rather she has less so I don have to do ‘homework’ too! I guess I must sound very terrible amongst the many very hardworking parents here!

Hi cindycsm, I think I’ve read a reply from nms1 about higher Chinese at OLGC. Maybe you can read the previous thread. I’m still relatively new here so I don know how to quote and paste it in here but you can check on page 13 in this forum. Hope that helps you.

                        :boogie: Hello 3Chips
Mmmm..normally I do not sit down with my girl to help her do homework. Not sure if I am doing the correct thing but i was advised by letting her do the homework by herself, she can be more independent.Anyway, I really cannot sit beside her to teach her because of the followings:
                        1. Bad temper me! Once I spot any mistake or her handwriting is bad, my voice will escalate and i feel that i will make her loss confidence. So i better make myself disappear before her confidence disappear too.
                        2. Hubby is super busy and sometimes overseas and I still have a young toddler to look after and my never-ending housework is waiting for me everyday. How to sit beside her to teach her? ( btw, i have no maid too as yr sincerely is the maid at home 24/7).

Luckily for me, my girl is rather independent and she always complete homework all by herself. However, I did reassure her to come to me whenever she has difficulty in any subject, after which i will sit down with her to solve the problem.

The other situation whereby I will make sure I sit down with her is during her online maths questions. This is a optional website which OLGC will encourage yr child to sign up and the child can access many and various types of Maths questions whole year round. The website is called \"problemsum.com\" and personally I find this website very good and my child is learning a lot from there.
                        Take care!
