in RI , the classes are 1A, 1B, etc is it? Not 101, 102?

Are the GEPers group in the same classes together? blended with 270 and above scorers mainstream?

      For Sec-1 this year...

      1A & 1B are from Sports.

      1C 1D 1E 1F 1G 1H 1I are from Mainstream (P6 Mainstreamers, I mean).

      1J 1K 1L 1M 1N 1P 1Q 1R 1T are from GEP (P6 GEPpers), and top scorers from P6 Mainstream (>265).

ALL doing the same stuff (maybe except the Sport classes?). No difference between GEPpers & Mainstreamers in RI.

Can any parents verify the above data, please? Am not 100% sure..

you are right. but you can confirm this year got 18 classes in total ? what is the class size ? in the past was always 15 classes x 30 = 450 cohort size with the last 7 classes as GEP

yes no diff in curriculum in RI between GEP & mainstream
Any idea RI students would need to attend O level exam for high chinese or express chinese, or have to attend both?

Those taking only o level Chinese will do their o level chinese at sec 4

Those doing HCL will take o level CL at sec 3 and HCL at sec 4

        That's different from RGS then.
really ? that was what my DS told me

            7 Mainstream + 7 GEP + 1 Sports.

This year, RI has 1 more Sport class and 2 more GEP classes, hence 18 classes..
            7 Mainstream + 9 GEP + 2 Sports.

DS' class has 25 pupils. Not sure of other classes, but most probably less than 30 pupils per class. Can any Sec-1 parents verify the above data?

              Thank you for the info.

Wah they have a lot of resources. Can afford to have 25 kids in a class. So good. This sat dd will have to go there for campfire. Are parents allow to go in the premises to fetch? In may, I was scolded by the security guard for entering.

:rotflmao: Thot RI only has the hippo statue standing guard...
Didn't know got ogre at the gate too!

friendship, did you rub the guard the wrong way?
Btw, dun ask me what's the right way to rub...I dunno either!

But we have fetched DD from RI on a number of occasions and have never had any problems with the guards. They are usually very nice and would show us where to wait for DD...namely the pick-up point.

hmm, like your comments on rub the wrong way vs right way…I dunno either! 😂 .. Generally, the guards at RI very nice & will direct you to the pick-up point or car park (which is just in front ) of the pick up point . You can park and sit there to wait for your DD.. we always wait there for DD whenever she is in RI performing or for some projects etc. :xedfingers:

                        that means 18 x 25 = 450

makes sense, so the class size is smaller now
