but it is even more painful for those who can't even get to the school where it is just a stone throw away.....
imagine the poor kid asking the parents \"why do u want to send me to a school far away when i can walk to the school next to our home?\"

Boh pian la, as parents, we need to make informed and calculated choice for our kids. Dunno about other neighborhood, but where I live, there are 3 pri sch within 1km. One is branded, needs ballot for 2c 1km. 2nd one 1km sure in but ballot for 1-2km. Shd I cry foul if I want to try my luck at sch 1 (branded) but end up ballot out? -

But hey, moe says all schools are good schools. So, still painful right?
-
i am convinced only if the so many ministers / civil servants put their kids in these \"good\" schools....spread it out. take the lead. dont go via 2a or 2b route.

Regardless of whether it is branded school.. it is just as painful, if they applied but cannot get in.. look at some of those who couldn't get into the school at P2CS.. and complaining about PRs who applied at P2C took the places.KSP:

But what are the chances of not being able to get into an unbranded school had they applied at P2C? Chances are.. they most likely got in and unable to feel the pain.... -

Some unbranded schools provide far better support than known ones.
Principals are more caring and willing to help parents...like having vendors provide workshops to help coach kids at home. Even teachers are more hands-on. -

However, there should be only one principle that should be held true consistently i.e \"distance\" upon which the school placement are allocated for, no? Was this not the basis that the school was allocated in the first place? Once move house, transfer to school nearer to home. That's it.
Wait... I can get my kid transferred to HPPS just by moving nearer to the school?!
