Opinions of the Primary School Registration System

Er... I personally feel that all those with kid's currently in that school should be given priority and there shd not be any limit for this group. It is very punishing to have one kid in this school and another in that school, if the parents have intended to put them in the same school. For those who choose to put their children in diff school (eg my girl put in chij and my boy go RI), then it's their choice.

yes, totally agreed. parents will want to place children in the same school for logistic reason among other things.

Boh pian la, as parents, we need to make informed and calculated choice for our kids. Dunno about other neighborhood, but where I live, there are 3 pri sch within 1km. One is branded, needs ballot for 2c 1km. 2nd one 1km sure in but ballot for 1-2km. Shd I cry foul if I want to try my luck at sch 1 (branded) but end up ballot out?

i am convinced only if the so many ministers / civil servants put their kids in these \"good\" schools....spread it out. take the lead. dont go via 2a or 2b route.

Regardless of whether it is branded school.. it is just as painful, if they applied but cannot get in.. look at some of those who couldn't get into the school at P2CS.. and complaining about PRs who applied at P2C took the places.

But what are the chances of not being able to get into an unbranded school had they applied at P2C? Chances are.. they most likely got in and unable to feel the pain....
