Is Samsung Note a smartphone or just another tablet like the iPad?

Hi, anyone who has used both the new iPad and iPad 2, tell me which one is better in terms of user-friendly, value-for-money and energy-saving? I heard the new iPad heat up faster than the iPad2, so it may be a concern as I'm planning to watch my fave movies and drama serials with it.

Angelight- Samsung Note is great for watching movie and drama. In addition you can use it as phone function. The screen is big so ok for eye comfort.

Note is ard 5.3\" I guess. iPad is 9.7\".

If portability \"on the go\" is a big concern, note is worth considering.

Else, if home use or overseas trip etc.. use at home or hotel room.. Then the difference in screen size would be a huge consideration.

If screen size is impt, the note would not be a suitable substitute.

New iPad is retina screen. You can watch Full HD video on it in Full glory..

Heating is usually not a concern. All devices heat up a little. It wouldn't be so hot that you cannot hold (I doubt Apple will make such a product.. not sure abt other MIC brand šŸ˜‰ )

User friendly, of coz New iPad as it uses a more powerful processor and usually smoother & faster in responsiveness (except during loading, where some App may load slower due to retina high res graphics).

value for money is subjective. New iPad is more expensive. But specs is naturally much better. The screen itself is big selling point. Some may feel the screen alone is worth all the extra $.

The new iPad, being more powerful and supporting better graphics, will definitely consumer more energy. In terms of battery performance, it uses higher capacity battery, so will last as long as the older iPad.

              Hi limlim,

Thanks for the detailed feedback. Think I may go for iPad2 cos price is a considering factor and battery life is also impt and I prefer one that is more energy-saving. High resolution is good but not a priority for me. šŸ™‚
