Eye Level Education Centre (aka Enopi) - Discussion
-
Hi,
My older kids (P1 and P2) are with Enopi maths starting from this year. My boy did Kumon when he was K2 and was up to "P1 level" by end of the year. I didn’t continue him as I felt that kumon is just arithmetic though I’ve to agree that Kumon traind him to count faster through the numerous repetitive worksheets. Meanwhile for Enopi, they are also doing the arithmetic (they have worksheets for homework) and heuristics maths which I personally felt that it’s more well rounded and in line with MOE syllabus.
Enopi progress the child based on ability rather than school level. So in view of that, a child could be doing more than what their level is doing. On the other hand, due to this ability progress, there are some topics that are already taught in school but not in Enopi yet. But to us, it wasn’t a big issue. Also, in our case, the teacher actually supplement the child in line with school syllabus. I think I saw improvements in my P2. Since P1, her maths result is around the 80+ range. But this time round in SA2, she scored 90 for her maths. A marked improvement.
My K1 going next year is also starting Enopi next year. I was contemplating between MPM and Enopi but in the end, decided to just stick to Enopi. -
MMM,
What r the rates like for K1 for E.nopi? -
$120 per 4 lessons

Thanks. Same rate as Kumon. 1.5hrs?
R they using the same method as Kumon? Go there to do worksheets, and instructors mark them? -
hi MMM
which branch of enopi do u go to?
is it also like kumon where they have to do worksheets everyday? any class teaching or guiding?
thanks. -
We go to Roxy Square.
Yes, they have worksheets for homework but usually the kids are able to complete within 2 days. Alot depends on how difficult the questions are.
The teacher will guide them if they’ve issue but note there is no "teaching". -
I was quoted $75 for 4 sessions, 45 mins per session. How come the rates are different?
-
My kids sessions are around 1.5 hour a week.

MMM:
thanks MMM, so since there is no \"teaching\" which is quite similar to kumon, the difference is therefore in the worksheets? n from what u say, it means the one week worth of homework can be completed in 2 days?We go to Roxy Square.

I have ask the enopi instructor whether we will get back the completed worksheet. She told me that only the basic math worksheet will be given back, the IQ math portion will be retain by the school. Is this the practice in other school.
I was told by my friend that for MPM, all the worksheet will be retain by the school.
Can any one verified that this is the practice for all the center?
