            Alice, Ben,Catherine and Dino donated some money to the Red Cross.

            The ratio of the amount donated by Alice to the total amount donated by Ben, Catherine and Dino was 1 : 7.
            Ben donated 5/11 as much as the total donated by Alice, Catherine and Dino.
            Catherine donated 60% of the amount donated by Alice, Ben and Dino.
            If Ben donated $120 more than Dino, what was the total amount donated by the 4 pupils?

              Alice, Ben,Catherine and Dino donated some money to the Red Cross.

              The ratio of the amount donated by Alice to the total amount donated by Ben, Catherine and Dino was 1 : 7. --> total 8
              Ben donated 5/11 as much as the total donated by Alice, Catherine and Dino. --> total 16
              Catherine donated 60% of the amount donated by Alice, Ben and Dino.
              --> 3:5 --total 8
              If Ben donated $120 more than Dino, what was the total amount donated by the 4 pupils?
              Total amount donated is the same.

              A: A+B+C+D = 1:8 --> 2u : 16u
              B: A+B+C+D --> 5u : 16u
              šŸ˜„ A+B+C+D = 3: 8 --> 6u : 16u
              A:B:C:D --> 2u: 5u : 6u: (16u-6u-5u-2u) --> 2u : 5u : 6u : 3u -- total 16u

              B donated $120 more than D,
              2u --> $120
              16u --> $960

              Total amount donated = $960

              cheers.

                When I clicked on your link, all I could see was a circle inscribed in a triangle.

                Based on your description, perhaps this question may help.

                Q15 of this paper, please go to page 35 of this link.

                      Can someone help me with the following question:

                      Susan has some $0.50, $0.20 and $0.10 coins. The value of the coins she has is in the ratio 5:21:15. She used 4/7 of the $0.50 coins and 98 of the $0.20 coins and she left $270.40. What is the percentage of $0.50 coins does she has?

                      :roll:
