      :grphug: Greeting Club 2002! 😄

Just want to share this blog with all of you or perhaps some of you may have already known it 😄

      http://petunialee.blogspot.sg/2012/08/69-marks-for-psle-prelim-math.html

She is no stranger in this KSP Forum too - Chenonceau who has written and contributed in a lot of threads :salute: :salute:

I read the above blog over and over again - Yes, more than thrice. Why? Because I can relate her experience with what I have gone through recently. I was in a dilemma whether should I share here (since it is not a \"good\" new) but then again am encouraged that whether good or bad - it is an experience that I went through 😄

DD1 called me in the office on Thursday - sobbing. I knew it and already prepared to listen. Thankfully, there was no meeting and not many colleagues around at that timing so I was able to concentrate on the phone. Yup, she received her result for the CA2 and for the 1st time in her school life, she got Band 3 for Maths - 68/100. The paper has not returned to the class yet so there's no way that I can check which are the mistakes or careless works. I e-mailed the FT (taking EL & Maths) regarding DD1's emotion level and reaction towards the result. FT called me within an hour - thankful 😄

She was already home when she got my mail so she too did not have the paper on hand. But she mentioned that the paper was \"doable\" - not pitched at a difficult level and this top class has generally done much better than the other in the school

As a parent, the pain is not so much of the result but my child's emotion  Am relieved to find that I am not walking this journey alone - after reading on mummy Petunia's blog.

So, I have given a reward to DD1 for her effort and hard work - movie ticket to the show \"brave\" with her 2 buddies this afternoon! :please: :imcool:

Hello Champion, :grphug: to you and your DD. Sometimes exams and tests are just so unpredictable, but as long as our DCs have done their best, then that's already very good. What we mummies can do is to provide whatever moral support for our kids and be there for them when they need us.... and you have demonstrated all these! :rahrah:

I was so touched when I read you rewarded her with the \"Brave\" movie. That was such a super sweet gesture. Something I've got to learn from you. Not only the reward was timely, even the movie was well selected and so very appropriate for her at this moment. Don't we want our kids to grow up ino brave young ladies?

I'm sure your DD will do very well for her PSLE under the guidance so such a wonderful mummy.

Let's all 加油 together for PSLE 2014! :rahrah: :rahrah:

Thanks for the encouragement; sincerely appreciates much!

Sometimes, it really takes a little setbacks in life to make a person learns and from this incident, I myself learn something - moral support and unconditional love. I am glad that DD1 chose to call and tell me about the result - the moment she reached home. I want to be the first she shares all news with me - be in academic result or any big or small issues happening around her. She is 10 this year - a \"sensitive\" pre-teen age for girls so Happy Mama - we are in the \"same boat\" will have to deal with many more \"girlish\" problems later :hi5:

To all Club 2002 parents and child(ren) - Let's Jia you together and come forward to share - I really love to read and learn a lot form this forum; :lovesite: :grphug: :celebrate:

I love "brave" as it touches on the relationship between mother and daughter. I watched it with DD1 last week, thinking that it’s just another kiddy show. I am very glad we watched it together and discussed it after the show. DD1 could see that the queen loves her daughter and the latter’s rebellious action almost caused her to lose her mother. There’s always consequences to bear for taking the wrong action. Strongly recommend that all mummies watch it with their princesses (and prince though I am unsure if 10 year old boys want to watch a show where the hero is a girl. Haha)

              Have a good weekend!

                Thanks Trina!

We’re not going for a holiday next week, so a nice movie will be a good way to bond with dd. She’s starting to show ‘attitude’, talk back, sometimes leaving me speechless. It may be timely to remind both of us of the mother-daughter tie.

                    Mini term test results out.

Ironically, his weakest subject is above class average and strongest subject is barely above class average. Usual, math tests with careless mistake that he himself is ashamed of. Maintained his form for english paper two. Next term killer will be paper one and oral!

Long time no see; how have you been? Glad that CA2 is over for your DS too! Cheers!

:dowan: I am not a great mummy - am just learning along the way to be the best supporter and friend to all my children

Thankful that DD1 has put the CA2 episodes behind her and is now gearing towards the next lap. Still coming home with tons of homework - spending almost 3 hours on the study-table finishing them yesterday afternoon.

She mentioned that FT tell the class that SA2 is barely 6-weeks down the road so is trying to finish the syllabus soonest possible 😓 :nailbite:

Wishing all the best to Club 2002 children - Enjoy plays, rest in between all studies! :imcool: 🕺 :rahrah:

Agreed 6 weeks to reflect and work on their weaker subjects. I spoke to DS about enrolling him into writing class. He was upset but i had to hold my top to explain to him : apparently he is still not writing with conscience. He just speed write and think as if it is done he did his part. So he still cannot \"see\" :? what was wrong about his writing.

I had to sit him down to explain the different between lower primary and upper primary level requirements. To sum i told him P1-P3 he is to \"learn\" writing and from P4-P6 he has to write to \"learn\". :xedfingers:

He has to develop the ability to recognize grammar & spelling error; and verb & subject agreement. Not sure if any or my words get into him...sign...I also told him its time to slow down to reflect on why despite so much efforts we put into his study and yet his result did not meet his own goals. (he got band 2 for math and english) ...

Anyway, let not give up, give a pat on our back and look forward to SA 2...another 8 more exams b4 PSLE ( P5 ~ 4 exam & P6 4 more phew 😓 ....)
