Pixie, have seen the BAC on the website...but no info on how to audition leh. Roughly when is the audition? Then I can check back if I can remember when the time comes.Ragamuffin,
There's a Ballet Associates Course at SDT. She had auditioned for it and was selected so she's taking classes once a month there. You can check their website. It's a yearly intake. She also joined the Junior Academy at SOTA. More info can be found at SOTA website. Other than that, my girl attends her regular ballet classes at CC. -
Thanks dance and theatre & dasalo!
dasalo : perhaps dance and theatre rounded down the total?
dance and theatre : yup the info is indeed useful. Should my girl get into SOTA I'll have to check that out. Thank you. -
Ragamuffin
The audition for this yr was held early Feb. Erm I signed her up in Jan but I think the registration for audition started in Dec last year not sure. You may want to look
out for news on their website this dec. There's a minimum age requirement but not minimum grade so I guess you may let her try out for next year or the following year's intake
It's definitely very early preparation for entrance to SOTA but if one is really keen why not? Haha. -

Yes my girl is in the 12.15pm class, but she's old enough to go herself
..... I hardly ever go to Fort Canning. -
My daughter has just received an offer to go to SOTA in the theatre program. We are wondering where SOTA graduates go to college if they do not choose to pursue their art from after school in an academic setting. Also, what exactly do theatre students do. Any information and inputs would be very appreciated.

Bookworm,
At the end of Year 2, parents will have a sharing session where the school will explain where your child can go, the subject combinations required to get into the unis (NUS, SMU NTU), as well as overseas Unis. This is the time for you to meet the subject heads, to ask questions, to check if your child is doing ok. They do not have to pursue their art form, SOTA is strongly academic and your child will have the opportunity to choose which uni to go to after IB. I found the information provided at the session to be very clear, the paths to Unis laid out for parents to see.
Dancers after Yr 4 have the option to move to La Salle straight into a dance degree program, SOTA will make the recommendations subject to your childβs performance.
Iβm not sure about the other art forms, perhaps other parents with kids in these, can help ? -

Oh ...
we saw a sota girl a few lessons ago maybe yr daughter?
I thought I saw 2 or 3 girls though in the first few lessons not sure. They were in their sota leotard. Did sota send the girls for audition or yr girl applied on her own? Any idea if it's just a one year course for foundation and intermediate and whether those in the foundation class will automatically join the intermediate class?
It sure sounds tiring attending hours of daily dance classes and RAD ballet lessons outside too especially advance grade where lessons are conducted twice a week I believe.
