      hi i3mum,

I see they have a lot of outshoots. My kid is now with the one at Guillemard road. We both like his teacher, just not the location (stupid carpark got to exit within 5 min and the place got spa....in geylang district 😞 . Initially we were quite hesitant cos the lady was very pushy, but glad it turned out well.

Perhaps you can let lao da go, and then see it filter down. DS1 was in Berries when he was in N2, I am using those booklets to teach DS2. Must reuse mah...
      Hi hquek,

At first I also thinking to enroll the Guillemard Road for my P1 but think the stupid car park is lousy.Grace period of 5 minutes is not sufficient to bring the children to the class unless the children are independent.

Yes have SPA & very near Red Light District Geylang! Wonder is it a poor planning to set up Yuquan in Guillemard Road. BTW, I had enrolled the class in Yuquan (Middle Road)

        hi titank,

Absolutely agree. somemore classroom on 2nd floor. If you take the lift, it's absolutely mazey (and very scary if alone). there's a shortcut via the staircase (where the car grooming pp are), but have to climb up that flight of steps - something which my kid cannot do alone, and my parents can't (bad knees).

Think middle road not much better cos will kena erp - unless it's off erp hours. May not seem much, but if you add up over the whole course, the amount can get scary.

Paying too much for kids' classes, so have to scrimp on erp and parking charges. 😉

          Hi titank & hquek,

The one at Holland outlet is actually a RC room and they use it for enrichment class. I m not sure how is it like, and it's a small room. Wonder if any parents sent their kids there before.

            Hi All,

Yuquan have enrichment classes in various part of Singapore at the RC Centres. The course fee is cheaper but the disadvantage is that the class is not uniform. Meaning that P1 & P2 would be put together in the same class.

If you want to have the same group then is either at Middle Road or the
            Guillemard Road.

              Hi titank,

I was wondering if Yuquan is better for older (pri 5-6) kids or younger kids? Cos I heard that places like Berries is better for younger kids but I am looking for a place that is good for older kids and to motivate them. I have a friend whose child is borderline pass for primary 5 and am helping her to look for a place that can really help. Do you know if Yuquan could help?

                Hi,

has anyone tried confucius institute? they also have chinese enrichment classes right? don't know how is the standard... the gal who is in charge of the certificate/diploma course spoke to me in very poor mandarin. her one sentence consisted of maybe 2 words of chinese and the rest in english and it was very irritating.

                coolit,
i read from this thread - think most say molin for upper primary. there are a few saying berries is good too. i guess your friend has to go down to the centres and see for herself. has to see the material they use and how the teachers conduct the lessons. no use if the centre has lots of chinese prc teachers who cannot engage the kids.

as for yuquan - i didn't quite like the way it is run. prob its the principal - who is also the owner of yuquan. She pushes and sells very hard, very businesslike. they actually have a holiday course - 2 weeks, 9-4pm but kids can stay on until before 7pm for $980! but this is just my 2-cents worth. 😐

                  Hi Coolit,

From this thread, many people had commented that Molin or Jiang Education is good for upper primary.

I had visited almost 5-6 chinese enrichment centres just to view their training materials & the school environment as follow:-

                  Molin Tutorial
                  Yuquan Lang
Han Lang (Fu Lu Shou Complex)
                  Berries (Pandan Valley)
Eduplus (Ghim Moh & UE Square)
                  Success Education Centre, http://www.chenggong.com.sg/home.html
                  Xueni Lang Centre
Tien Hsia (Enquire on phone only)
Hua Lang (Enquire on phone only)
                  Busybee (Enquire on phone only)

I guess all almost the same where it is all chinese enrichment. Some of them have separate compo class as a individual class. Agree that with Yuquan thier sales technique is very good. You must know how to question them back as they would sell you like Zijing, Idioms etc.

Hoepfully my both kid would benefit from Molin & Yuquan from thier program. I did not put both of them in the same school so that I can have better evaluation next time.

1 of the school told me if my kid enrolled from P1, sure able to hit above 90. Also at PSLE, at least can get a A or A*. Ha.ha 6 years later anything can happen.

                    titank,

i didn’t read your former post where you put your kids and which one goes to which school. But let me guess the school who told you that your kid will get good results in Primary chinese. My guess - Yuquan!

                    right?

Ha.ha you are wrong.Yuquan didnt promise me anything but of course this type must both side work hand in hand. It is the teacher from Success Tuition Centre told me. In P1, P2 they would be able to score above 90 marks. P6 get A*, A.
I went to so many enrichment centre, those with good testimonial also put the grades that the children get in the PSLE Chinese. Yes I putting my DS with Yuquan P1 & DD with Molin N2 next year.

Anyone has any feedback about Eduplus at Ghim Moh & Tien Xia? Is it suitable/ good for kids in K1 & Nursery? I know Berries is a good choice, but more costly for me.
