Thank you for your reply, very useful information. It is rather competitive in school, and some teachers like to compare the GEP class with the mainstream classes. But this competitiveness is good, and encourages us to do even better. Within the class, it is possible to see that we try hard to get an A1 (which was not hard for the first test, but as the tests get more challenging...) getting an A2 is the goal for most people.
The teachers are very supportive, though sometimes it can be annoying when they get you to do 'self-learning' and speak indirectly when you ask for help because they do not want to 'spoon-feed'. They are very open and encourage us to make appointments during recesses if we need extra help.
I'm the earliest sleeper in my class as I sleep at 10-10.30 most of the time. It might be because my travelling time is only 45 min or so and my CCA is not the kind that is very busy. (those hectic ones are mainly performing arts and some sports, the clubs and societies are more relaxed. -

Great to know that your child's dream school is NYGHMy DD is in CO and she plays the cello. NYGH is her dream school. We are going to try DSA and I would like to seek some parents' here.
Any of your child is in CO? Anyone plays the cello? Are there many cellist in CO? My friend told me, if for a particular year, the school doesn't need many cellist (or RUAN, Er-hu etc), the school will limit the number of DSA. Is it true?
Hope some mummies & daddies can give me some advise. TIA.
yay:)
I'm a student in one of NYGH's performing arts group.
Not a lot of cellist in CO though, but you can try to DSA into Strings!
Strings have quite a number of cellist!
Anyway good luck! hope to see your child in NYGH soon! -

You have a positive attitude! :boogie: luckily for you, the sch only has around 2/3 GEP classes...jaztxm:
IP is like that very into self learning ... They really teach less but expect you to learn more...... on your ownThe teachers are very supportive, though sometimes it can be annoying when they get you to do 'self-learning' and speak indirectly when you ask for help because they do not want to 'spoon-feed'. It's always great to see students sharing in the school threads, giving us parents more insights to each school. Parents talking to parents may not reveal the full picture... Thanks for sharing!

Hi
My DD applied for NYGH DSA. She attended the interview in mid Jul. To date, there is no news from the school on the outcome. Anyone knows when will the results be out? I understand the results from other IP schools like RGS, RI, HCI, NUSH are all out already. TIA -

Hi, existing students and their parents. Are there school bus operating for NYGH? I know there is board house? but is there compulsory board program like in NJC? Thanks
-
Hi, I know there are some girls who take the school bus to school in the morning. Boarding is a Year 2 program, for one-month only.
Additional info:
NYGH provides one way transport to send the girls from NYGH to Newton Language Centre for their Third Language. Cost only $50 for a year.
