GEP 2012 - Screening & Selection
-
baobei:
Guess those who did not manage to complete the papers would not get a chance to be selected for the selection test since for gifted child, the paper should be considered easy and able to complete on time.

Not true lah. My DS went to :imconstipated: for 15 minutes .. during the 40 min English paper - probably didn't finish and still got in. So for those who didn't finish, there is still hope. -
keroppi,
You're very cute with the smiles sitting on the tub!

I was told each question is being rated differently . So it may not matter if u did not answer those Qs that carried little weight. Most impt is to answer correctly for those with heavy scores.

DD just said that Math was tough and English ok. She completed both papers but had to just hantam for some of the Math questions.
Asked her what kind of questions were they. She could not remember at all. -
I’m not worried about this and I told my daughter not to worry about it too. If she passes, she still has to sit through even more stringent tests. If she doesn’t pass, life goes on

I agree with jacsplace.
Told DS to just try for it. As he is still having CA2, I didn’t want to put on extra stress on him. -

:goodpost: This is the right attitude. -
Normally, how many questions are there in screening and selection test?
-
I didn’t stress my DD too. GEP test fall after Ca Eng ,Maths paper and before science , chinese. Told her just take it like parts of the Ca. Anyway she still can stay on to the present school.

My DS commented the GEP tests are easy. Ample time to check. According to him most of his friends in school and tuition classes also thought the tests were easy. Can trust or not???
