Hi i am planning a trip to HK this coming Dec holidays with hubby and 2 boys, 6 & 8. Intend to stay at disneyland hotel for a nite.

i would to hear from those who have stay there any feedback or advice? Which is better? Hollywood or disneyland hotel? Why?
      Thanks
Disneyland hotel is more ex. This is because you can c the cartoon characters when u have your meals in their restaurant there whereas hollywood don't.

Because of $$, we choose Hollywood. Its all right for us as there is a playground & swimming pool in Hollywood hotel. Moreover, there is free transport from both hotels to Disneyland. Besides, the cartoon characters in Disneyland hotel, I can't tell u much, cause I've never stay there before.

There's a website of Hong Kong disneyland & you can find out more on this two hotels there. If you're bringing kids, never, never leave them alone, ok?

Hi all, planning to visit HK coming Oct but find all hotels at Tim Sha Tsui So expensive. Anyone has any good recommendation for less expensive hotel you have experienced in HK? TIA.

I prefer Royal Plaza Hotel as it is connected to a big shopping mall. Further, it has a playground for kids. I love to eat at 大家乐 there. Big portion & especially the milk tea yumming.

But you need to walk a distance (down some escalators and walk across a bridge) before you can access to MTR. Need some walking but still manageable for our family even together with my baby.

I've been to a few hotels but like this the most. But guys like my DH doesn't like shopping, prefer elsewhere.

Surf the web, for promotion or offer price. There are some with reviews there too like tripadvisor.com.

Do come back & share with us your trip. Happy vacation! 😉

I have mixed up the name of the hotel, c changes to the hotel name above.

                Hi,

                smurfy,
the website also shows renovation, can the rooms still be booked?
This is because when I went to Park Lane Hotel some years ago, they were having renovation but rooms are still available for bookings. We stayed there and the noise did not affect us at all. This hotel is good as there are many shops just next to it and a church too. We went to attend their service on one of the Sunday during our stay there. This hotel location is very convenient.

Metropark Hotel Kowloon is the hotel I stayed in my last trip to Hong Kong. This place not so fantastic but my DH wanted to try something different & cheaper ones. There are 3 in Hong Kong, the one we stayed was at waterloo road. You need to walk and cross some roads to reach the MTR. But we can c some pets shop as we walked down so we don't mind. There are few eateries next to it where we had our afternoon tea & breakfast there.

Edited to add, one of the reason we chose Metropark Kowloon is because of free internet access. 😉

It was at the last trip whereby my son got his toe injured, bleeding when he jumped off from some levels at the escalator in MTR station. He was doing some dangerous stunts.

The actions taken by the MTR staffs was fast. Once it was informed of this, they brought my son with us to a room whereby they put on some medication to his toe. Next, he & the dad went off in an ambulance. My son needed some stitches to fix his toe nail & that night he and his dad came back to hotel after midnight with the rest waiting in the hotel anxiously. I was worried as I saw big droplets of blood on his sandals which I brought back to the hotel.
Thank God, it was all in God's plan that we had stayed in Metropark Hotel Kowloon. This was because it was next to a hospital. My son was asked to have his wound check in this hospital before his return to Singapore.
Our plans to visit some places was cancel due to this & the stroller which we brought for our baby was used on him instead.
One thing to add is that the MTR staffs were responsible, they even called to check how is my son after that. 😉

I think the renovation at Royal Plaza Hotel is from 9am -7 pm, so if you are not in the hotel room during this period then it won’t affect you. But some feedback said that it was really noisy and the hotel gave ear plugs when you check in.

                      Hi,

Can any parent share with us whether Lantau Island is suitable for family with young children? I am planning to go HK in Nov with my 2 kids (4yr & 6yr).

Has anyone been there with little kids in tow? Is the place stroller-friendly? Where do I go to catch the skyrail? Where would be a decent place for the kids to have lunch? Is it possible to include Cheung Chau Island on the same day as well?

                      Thank you.

We went when our girl was 3. She enjoyed the cable car ride. We paid extra for the crystal cable car. We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant there. No problem finding food at all.
