Kindergarten teacher charged with ill-treating child

Stress factor? Lighter sentence for stress factor? Can the child cite stress factor for having \"misbehaved\"? Seriously, they're little kids. How bad can misbehavior be, right... that warranted summary execution of nakedness?Calm down Chen...but I totally agree with your feeling. This teacher does not deserve to be in teaching. She is a shame to the teaching profession. No matter what the little girl had done, she did not deserve to be punished to stand naked in front of her classmates (boys included!). The news report yesterday said she planned to plead guilty, probably get her lawyer to cite some stress factor or something so as to get a lighter sentence.
But no matter what punishment she gets, the trauma will probably stay with the poor little girl for life. we are all parents here, imagine if this had happened to our child, we would be so devastated and furious.Chenonceau:
I know I am not being lucid here but I wish we could...
Name this one.
Shame this one in every forum and on a hundred blogs.
May someone take a picture of her naked so that every blog writer can include her photo.
And we should make her stand naked at the station control of our most crowded MRT station. There now... I have said it. I feel better now.

Mean what? Say suffer some sort of "mental illness" to get lighter punishment if charged?

Still got to be alert even not studying in west... 5 years old probably can tell parents what had happened, if is younger age then how?Chenonceau:
I still feel like castrating this woman... except there is nothing to castrate!!
Actually I feel the same. The kid only 5 then, can't imagine the scars she will carry.
Chinese news say it is centre in west. Those with kids in other directions can go whew. -

Should it not be heavier sentence in view that she's a teacher and supposed to be example to all? She could have destroyed a life...what if the little girl grows up to be a bully because of the bad example she was shown repeatedly whilst in kindy? How many more pp will be affected because this teacher have 'mental illness'/stress?
Someone pls reassure me that this lady will never be in a job that have contact with small kids. -
If she is convicted and sentenced, I doubt she will ever be able to teach again. What I donβt understand is why the abuse was allowed to continue from 2 mths last year without any kids or the victim herself making any complaints. A 5-yr-old kid shld be able to complain to her parents what she had encountered in school. And even if she was too scared to say anything, what about the other kids?

Maybe kids are too young and don't know where to seek help? The other staffs? Why no one speak up, or is it a closed concept classroom?
CCTV?
No one knows? -

Do to the teacher, what she did to the child!!!
Ok. But after that put her in jail for the next four years (the max sentence if convicted).
Sorry folks, I got no sympathy for child abusers who are also educators themselves. -

Ya man! We need a mdm ong (how dare you cut my son hair!)for this case man! So that the papers will know who this teacher is!Busymom:
Hope there is proper follow-up counselling for the 5yo victim and her classmates. I will be really angry if this happens to my child.
Touchwood.
If this happened to my child, I will make sure TEACHER'S name and pic is published. I am sure many would want to see her face. And I will send my child to see a psychiatrist to make sure she is not traumatised. -

This father is sick.Busymom:
Reminds me of reading about a mom who did that to her own DD. Wasn't this posted in KSP before?
Yes it was Busymom...except that it was a daddy who did so. He told his teen daughter to undress before asking her to bend over to deliver the caning. The creepy part was when he actually posted at that instant he realized his girl was no longer his little girl and that she was budding! (has grown into a lady!)
Quite a number of parents responded to his post in discomfort and if I recall correctly, the post has been embargoed (or removed... not sure) due to its content. -

My child went to infant care since two months old. I purposely chose a big infant care ctr (20 babies) so that there are more teachers around. Surely not all are child abusers right?hquek:

When my child turn four month old, he suddenly behaved strangely whenever a teacher wanted to pick him from us (in the morning at the reception). Usually my child would be very willing to be carried away. But just this teacher.... He epwould turned towards me and kaola hug me tightly. Then I knew, something was wrong. I spoke to the director and head infant teacher that I would like this teacher not to handle my infant. After the teacher was diverted to another group of infants, my child no longer exhibited that koala hug each morning. But.... But, the other group to which that teacher had gone over, had issues. So well.... My child \"spoke\".
As parents we need to watch our children closely. Even when they could articulate, they might not have told the whole truth or understood certain things. But I believe each child has this in born ability/ sensor within them that tells them that something is not right or they are being hurt.
