My daughter is from their affiliated primary school. Sadly for the past 2 years, her academic performance has been dwindling.. From bad to worst.. She attended all the school extra classes & I've enrolled her for tuition.. Yet she still flung.. It's so heartbreaking.. Each time when PTM, received good feedback abt her coping well in school/studies blah, blah, blah.. But her results don't reflected as such.. So do the teacher there really take the time to know their student?? I'm still figuring out whether it's the quality of the teachers in the school or the problem lies in my own daughter herself.. Thinking of downgrading her from express to normal ... Maybe with the slow teaching phase, hopefully she's be able to do well... But my daughter adamantly refused.. Pleading to give her another chance.. Should I let her hv a way??

Let her study hard for the Sec 2 End of Year Exams, if results are really bad, like fail English and/or Overall less than 50% she will be automatically channel to Sec 3 Normal(Academic).

Otherwise she will choose new subjects at Sec 3 so hopefully its a new start for her and she can cope better then.

My youngest join CHIJ SJC this year sec 1, sad to see the comments on this school is not so great. Any parents that her/his girl in this school can share more thoughts ? Singapore have 11 of CHIJ school, are they related ?

What mean by band 9 ? O level result is poor for this school ?

Or any CHIJ SJC kids would want to share thier experience here ? I would love to know more as me and my girl are new to this school.

So far have not got any good feed back on this school tho this is the affliated school for my DD. Am considering for the only reason that it is closer to home and she wont have to travel much. All say don’t go there.

If anyone can really give feedback on teachers and academic preparation the children go through it would be helpful. My only concern is if teacher just lectures and leaves the room without explaining or checking to see whether the kids have understood.

                Thanks…worried mum

I’m was a student in this sch entering with a very low PSLE score of 221 but the care and support the teachers gave allowed me to achieve an olevel raw score of 8, eligible for a jc

Tku, but still not enough feedback to make any judgement.

All am concerned about is quality of teaching.

So info on academics, … anyone out there…would be useful.

                    tks a lot.

Hi glad to hear that you manage to get into JC.

I'm considering putting my girls since their Primary school is affliated CHIJ SJI. Personally, though CHIJ SJI may not be academically good school (since it has taken low T-score students) but to me still not a bad school. Perhaps is the IJ culture that draws me. I find that it has positive impact on the girls.

Wonder why there is so little feedback on this school.

Rumour mill has it that students behaviour outside school is of concern. Is this so? can anyone elaborate.

                        Planning to admit DD here.

                        Tks
