All About Full-Time Maids

I think you should have a chat with your husband before the new maid comes and come to an agreement on what should and shouldn't be discussed in front of the maid. If he makes comments like that in front of her he is undermining your authority. I assume you are the main point of contact for the maid so you need to have a good but respectful relationship with her.My maid was from myanmar ($330), After few months she secretly bought a handphone during one of her holidays. Then she ask for increment bcos she compare with neighbors maid who had been working for six years drawing $550. Her main job is to push my motherinlaw (on wheelchair) to the park to do exercise every morning and evening, change diapers and cook for her, and moping floor and washing clothes..she does not need to cook for the family. Becos my motherinlaw already get used to her, i increase her salary to $400, even gave her $200 for her granny funeral.
Lately she has been always on the phone, one ear on hp listening to music and one talking to friend. She always ask to go provision shop to buy tobacco to chew. I tolerated her bcos of old folk at home. She even lied when i caught her not moping the floor in the morning and worse still, wash her clothes and ours together in the washing machines. When confronted that she has not been concentrating on her works..she would show black face and shouted back that she wants to go back.
I am even more angry when my husband said that u go get a replacement yourself otherwise i have to keep her. My maid was laughing when she heard this. Today i confirm a xfer maid from indonesia, can start work nx weeks. NEVER NEVER get myanmar maids..they are stubborns..prouds..and asshole..ops sorry. -
Ex-Saudi very hardworking. My PIL got one. Told me they think she was over-doing it ie. work non-stop and the whole flat spotlessly clean!

Either the agent didn't ask/ or don't want to let you know, or the maid refused to give them the number.
If the maid hasn't given them the WP number then they probably wouldn't have it. The question is why hasn't she given it to them?
My guess is, maybe she has bad employment record i.e. transfered many times. -

Probably the employers there are very demanding.

One ex singapore maid claimed to have finished 2 contracts in 4 years but when I checked her record, she had 7 employers!
There are those who claimed to have worked in middle east but couldn’t produce proof of their passports.
And then those who have worked in the middle east but in countries like kuwait, qattar, dubai, jordan all seem to have quite senang jobs cos it seems that a lot of the households there have more than 1 maid.
Can’t seem to get any from Saudi Arabia or HK. -

I understand how u feel , my this maid too , tell agent no off day no hp . Later she asks to have hp for a day . In the end I give her over the weekend . Tell her no off day then recontract then now compare ppl got hp and off day . Quarrel with my mum , headache ! Recently I found out that she got fb . And surf during weekdays . Wonder how she got access , then I found another smartphone in the drawer .
Sometimes not that we don't want to give them off day . My ex maid got a bf , bring her bf to fetch my Girl from school . Keep asking advance pay.
I really don't understand y government still pro maid !
I told my hubby , I wanted to give up on maid !
Planning to go bk to work fulltime but got to change maid first . When the cat not ard , the mice comes out to play !
