3G + 4S -> 8.10Jim bought 3 goldfish and 4 swordtails and paid $8.10. He then bought 5 goldfish and 2 swordtails and paid $9.30. How much did he pay for goldfish ?.
Kindly help to resolve this. Thanks.
[5G + 2S -> 9.30] x 2
10G + 4S ->18.60
(10-3)G -> 18.60-8.10
7G -> 10.50
G -> $1.50
8G -> 1.5 x 8 = $12
The gold fishes are $12. -
ksi:
I think you meant G -> $1.05
7G -> 10.50
G -> $1.50
8G -> 1.5 x 8 = $12
The gold fishes are $12.
8G -> 1.05 x 8 = $8.40 -
BigDevil:
If you subtract the 2 equations, do you get G=1.05?
I think you meant G -> $1.05ksi:
7G -> 10.50
G -> $1.50
8G -> 1.5 x 8 = $12
The gold fishes are $12.
8G -> 1.05 x 8 = $8.40 -
:oops:
My eyes got stamp. Thought I saw 10G -> $10.50 -
BigDevil:

I think there must have been a typo error. 3/4 + 7/8 = more than 1. Probably the question reads and 7/8 of the remainder to bake a cake. -
