I used both these too... the poetry especially was enormous fun... that my son went to the library to borrow children's poetry to memorize.

            Chenonceau,

Have you come across books on algebra for primary level kids? Thanks.

STELLAR... provided they give access to parents. STELLAR is free... paid by taxpayers.

Unfortunately the national library do not carry all of the titles used in STELLAR

Ummm... no... I don't sell them. You can go online and buy from the link I sent you? I lent my lot to a friend... and she'll return them to me so that I can use for the Grandkids. The exercises are fun and well-conceived so they don't go out of fashion. I can use them to have fun with the Grandkids whatever the MOE does in future.

Language is language. It doesn't matter how you test it. So MOE can change its PSLE format all it wants. I am just glad that I got my child to be truly competent at home... without really worrying about what strange things the teachers in school were doing. Like for example... comprehension questions can only be answered in ONE sentence. I didn't understand why. So I looked past it and worked on having FUN with my little ones.

Unfortunately, I never did it for Chinese because I didn't know the PSLE now tests True Competence... and that drilling doesn't work anymore. We were just LUCKY that I love English and love playing with it.

As long as PSLE tests True Competence, then the same books I used for my kids are still useable for my grandkids because as long as the child is competent, he'll score. It doesn't matter what the PSLE becomes. BUT it matters how you teach it. If the teaching is poor then the child won't get competent and won't score.

Well... too bad. Make do with the cheaper resources in the local bookstores. That's the way the system has been the past few years. It's a meritocracy remember?
