simplest way to qualify is get into GEP -

Agree. Only problem is that not all who get into GEP will definitely get into NYPS. In my son's year 6 from his school got into GEP and all applied to NYPS as first choice. 3 boys got in and 3 girls got posted to the school opp.kiasurian:

it is not fixed in number or label
one year could be A or B or simply jumbled about.....
the objective is not to be fixated on it
usually the last 4 are GEP classes -
P4 onwards usually have 4 GE classes, 2 META classes and 3 to 4 HA classes…
