Every year, you should expect about 7 to 11 \"thinking, non-routine\" maths questions.
These questions will differentiate the A and A* pupils from the rest.
The ability to answer some of these questions correctly could also determine whether your child gets to his/her \"dream\" secondary school.

From the few 2012 prelim maths papers that I have seen, RGPS, NYPS and St Hilda's have some rather \"interesting\" questions.

I am so relieved to see the part in red. DS commented that the 2012 RGPS prelim paper was \"surprisingly easy\". He found only one thinking question in there which stumped him. He managed to solve it after time was up though. We're slowly working through the other papers.

Phew... I feel a bit better now.

[/quote]My friend also bought the prelim papers and told me that RGPS Maths papers seem easy. She told me not to waste my dd's time on that paper. After I saw the comments made by speedmaths.com, I have asked my friend to make a copy of RGPS maths paper for me.

AGREE... the raffles girls found this years maths paper for prelim paper easier this year. It was initially meant to be very hard but was eventually changed.

Anyone have views on Tao Nan 2012 math prelim?

        Hi, Chen.

Tao Nan Maths Prelim Paper 2, Q.16 is flawed, right? The orange beads, question stated as given by Jodie's friend, shouldn't it be Jodie's? Else not workable....

Hah? Is it? DS solved it with algebra and got the answer provided with the Top School paper? I've asked him to check again.

Edited: Hubby and DS solved it. There seems to be no issue with the question.

Anyone else done the Tao Nan paper? What thoughts? Difficult/Moderate/Easy?

Anyone got a good yoga teacher to recommend? Was wondering if this would help relieve the PSLE stress for both mommy and DS???

I bought this brand of correction tape just now…Toyo Tombow just now. Was told this brand is reliable bcos the tape will not cause the pages to stick together. There is a promo now…for the 5" and 6" (red and blue).

Bcos of the haze, I have to keep my kids at home. Yesterday was really bad…my eyes were watering and I was sneezing.

Why not let ur ds go for a head massage...can be vey relaxing. A good body massage to destress will be good too. I normally give dd a hair cut, hair treatment n ahead massage before exams. She feels \"lighter\" after that.

                    Where to do head massage?

I feel like I need to shave off all my head now! :frustrated:

Any suggestion as to how to teach DS to do this? He thinks that it's so funny and kept peeping and giggling.
