Hi,

Can any parent share with us whether Lantau Island is suitable for family with young children? I am planning to go HK in Nov with my 2 kids (4yr & 6yr).

Has anyone been there with little kids in tow? Is the place stroller-friendly? Where do I go to catch the skyrail? Where would be a decent place for the kids to have lunch? Is it possible to include Cheung Chau Island on the same day as well?

We went when our girl was 3. She enjoyed the cable car ride. We paid extra for the crystal cable car. We had lunch at a Chinese restaurant there. No problem finding food at all.

the website also shows renovation, can the rooms still be booked?
This is because when I went to Park Lane Hotel some years ago, they were having renovation but rooms are still available for bookings. We stayed there and the noise did not affect us at all. This hotel is good as there are many shops just next to it and a church too. We went to attend their service on one of the Sunday during our stay there. This hotel location is very convenient.

Metropark Hotel Kowloon is the hotel I stayed in my last trip to Hong Kong. This place not so fantastic but my DH wanted to try something different & cheaper ones. There are 3 in Hong Kong, the one we stayed was at waterloo road. You need to walk and cross some roads to reach the MTR. But we can c some pets shop as we walked down so we don't mind. There are few eateries next to it where we had our afternoon tea & breakfast there.

Edited to add, one of the reason we chose Metropark Kowloon is because of free internet access.

i asked for quotation from stay during oct 21 to 24th..
and i asked whether \"For the renovation, I am keen on whether during the period of stay, it will be affecting near the rooms that I am keen (or able) to book, or the corridors. ' they indicated that \"our renovation floor and guest floor is separate\"

How is the weather in HK in Oct? Anyone just came back can share how is the air pollution there?

I always received feedback that the queue for rides at Disneyland is really long. Any comments? Is there any local holiday in October?

oct shld be quite cooling and i think 1st oct is their national day

n lots of convention during so hotel rates might b more costly.
i just came back and its very hot there now and air not really
tat gd too.

If u're going to disneyland hotels directly from airport. Then while waiting for the coach to gather the rest, quickly do the following:
1. Go to the food stalls, there's one selling roasted chickens/duck rice/char siew rice, packet some for your lunch or dinner.
(so now u have tried the roasted stuffs in HK)
2. There is some sort of watson or pastries shop, snatch some bread, pastries, bottle drinks here. (so u've tasted the pastries in HK)

(by the way, the above shops are just next to the gathering points. But don't be too engrossed that u miss your coach.)

Actually, not asking u to be so thrifty. If u want to spend & have sumptuous meals, I won't stop u. These costs can use to buy more souvenirs instead.

Our maiden family trip!
So appreciate suggestion on food around tst and shopping.
Itinerary will be first two days disneyland, third day op, peak, star ferry, symphony of lights. Fourth day morning will like to eat nice stuff before checking out.
Heard about roast goose. Any recommendation around tst? My thanks in advance.

Your third day sounds very packed! We actually spent one full day at op, leaving only at about 6.30pm. Not sure if you will have time to go the peak, unless you planning to do it after sunset.
