I went to see deuter range of bags and they are not cheap either.

Yes I agree ergo bag is kind of heavier than normal bags and with their daily books and stuff, i feel its too heavy for them. Thats why i want to change his Dr Kong’s bag to something lighter. Considering ergoworks troller bag cos he likes one of them…

It's really not easy chooing the right school bag. Didn't realise that most of the ergonomic school bags are actually quite heavy. I have narrow down to these 3 for my DS who's entering P1 next year. Any comment which is more suitable for a petite boy?

        1. Lego SPI / Deuter Genius - most popular and cheapest among the range of ergo bags.

        2. Buddy 'Mighty Pack' - award winning school bag

        3. German brand - DerDieDas (my son loves the design and so is mummy but rather ex... )

          Hi

I tink if you like a SPI bag, get the plain kind…not the Lego bag. My frd mentioned those are not as lasting as the plain ones. My boy’s plain SPI bag had been w him for 4 years…I pitied the bag cos he is v rough with it. Finally, found some torn edges at the base of the bag. We will ne to buy a new one next year.
Was at Metro yday, shortlisted a Impact plain one too…at $99 (exclude 20% disc). H/w, he likes the Deuter bag which is $109 (M size without any disc). We din buy any, cant decide which one. The Deuter seem too small for P5.
Let my younger one try on the Impact, look too big for him. He is gg P1 next year. Compared to SPI, the Impact one seems lighter so we r tinking of switching to another brand altho’ SPI is v sturdy.

Was tempted to get the Impact Shinkansen at $49.90 as what BKTan02 shared but my younger one said he is a big boy woh…only want to take "serious" stuff ie non cartoon kind. Is the Impact Shinkansen oso an Ergo bag? BTW, the OG cut out coupon, is $59.90 oso an Ergo bag? Wonder wht is it the $99 one that we saw at Metro…
          Anyone has good suggestion???

Now then I realise buying a school bag is so difficult. Would like to get an ergonomic bag for my dd but am worried about the weight. Deuter bags are nice though. Wonder if it is common for P1 kids to still carry cartoon character bags, like Barbie, Strawberry Shortcake etc? My dd likes those but is afraid people will laugh at her.

You can try Dr Kong's Ergo & Pressure-less bags. The outlet at City Square Mall (Farrer Park MRT). I just bought one for my son yesterday at $79.90. I like it bcos it's light and sturdy, most ergo bags are pretty heavy. It's from Hong Kong. Good thing is that it comes with S, M, L & XL sizes. Buy in HK cheaper if you have the opportunity. Some Popular outlets also carries some model of it but not sure the price. Check it out at http://www.dr-kong.net/bags_list_sub_sub.php?t=2&id=111. Cheers!

Actually depend on how big/small size your child is also. I bought mine a spi bag during sale....it looks a bit big on him
