There is The Kidz Club (TKC) which is near the sch, some comments from a BTPS parent below.

Inside PH, there is the Care Junction student care managed by volunteers from Glory Pres. Church. But vacancies are limited.

That's great to hear. So parents who don't mind forking out a small fortune to stretch their kids can continue to do so, while kids who don't [go for tuition] wont be disadvantaged.

Well, in the first place, this should be the reason why our kids attend school...to be taught and tested what they learn IN SCHOOL. Disallow teachers from giving tuition.

This question gotta ask minister, keke. Btw if you do ask, pls also ask about the subsequent years' standard. I think too late to change this year's papers as the questions are probably set, printed & locked up in MOE by now.

Dream on.
New English syllabus will be implemented, affecting kids born in 02 onwards.
Lower PSLE standard...it won't happen. You are lucky if it doesn't get harder.
PSLE booklets have all been printed and locked up, waiting for CISCO escort to all schools from Sep 27.

Yes, by right should be so. Unless the bell curve is abolished (which is too drastic & hence unlikely), content not taught in school will continued to be tested to sieve out the top few %.

I like some countries' system whereby my grade is solely determined by what I score & not dependent on my peers' score. For example, >90 gets an A, and when I get 91, I know for sure I can obtain grade A, and not moderated to a B or C if the majority scores, let say, >95.

If you read ksp long enough, you'll know it's all got to do with the prioritization and allocation of limited, desired resources. If a thick band of the cohort gets similar scores, then the system would have difficulty deciding who gets into their choice schs, assuming most will apply to IP/popular sec schs.

If one get the type of teacher that my son has now, it is impossible not to have tuition(s).
