The reason is to keep their cultures - so you have a big team of Old Boys or Girls.

If this is the primary reason for being, then the respective school's ethos should include:\" We will never abandon the children in our schools\". What kind of school spirit is that when a school discard the 25 - 30% who don't make the affilated COA cutoff at a time when these children need it most!

Agree - that's why when they starting raising the cut-off there were a lot of unhappy parents - but it seems there is now a push to keep a certain level of academics as well. Is 220 hard to achieve by the way ?

I know it's just a hypothetical number for sake of discussion. It's a gray area that I don't want to get into. Honestly, I am just as curious but don't really want to know. :siam:

My daughters are in MGS so just wondering if 220 was like a pretty high score to get in PSLE ... there was talk abt raising this further in the future.

The average is 200. 220 is not that far off. It really depends on the kid's ability and sometimes luck plays a part. :celebrate:

Whether 220 is achievable or not depends on the capability of the child in question.

Really can't tell. Say, if 220 will result in 90% from MGPS for a few years, I'm sure MOE will arm-twist them to tweak the COP. But in general, I'm sure they wanna maintain a min % of students from MGPS.

BTW, I saw that ACS(BR) does not have any COP. Does it mean they only accept ACSP & ACSJ?

csc, I wasn’t referring to the median T score of each PSLE cohort which differs each year. I meant a T score of 200 can be considered as the average as a point of reference.
