jedamum, it is Lianhua.. dun tink it is popular..
Is it a popular school?MintyMin:
Am considering to transfer DS to a school 5mins from where I am staying, anyone can advise what I should do?
TIA
If yes, you may need to use your kids good results to help push your queue number in the wait list.
If no, just go down to the school general office and fill in a form to enter their wait list and cite proximity@ reasons. If your younger girl going to this school next time too, cite logistics benefit of having two kids in same school.
Which school's general office? his present school or the school that i intended to transfer him to?
Yes, definitely proximity is the key plus future both dds will attend there as well..

Mintymin,
Go lianhua general office to fill in form on wait list to transfer. When they inform you of vacancies and sent you a letter , then you take that letter to your boy’s school office. My boy used to have transfer classmates in and out from p2 to p3. There was one girl who transferred for six months, then out again. Think shifted house and previously on rental. -

Jedamum,
I understand liao.. Called MOE and they cleared my doubts.. Thanks!

Mind sharing what MOE told you?
-
Hi BigDevil,
They told me that for STEPS Programme, once I apply to be part of the programme for my kid to be transferred, I will have to accept whichever school that MOE has allocate my kid to, which is based on proximity of your residential area to the school. And if in the event, that is not the school i wan, I will have to do the other way of school transfer, which is what I’ve done:
1) Check with the desired school is there is any vacancy for your child
If Yes and confirmed,
2) Get form to fill up as application for transfer to the school
Once Desired school comes back with confirmation,
3) Go to current school to fill up withdrawal form
Hope tis helps. -
Thanks for sharing. One more thing to clarify.
So if you take part in STEPS and you are allocated a school by MOE, you HAVE TO accept? Can reject and go back to original school? Or must accept, attend new school while exploring the other way of transfer? -

Mus Accept once MOE allocate to you.. And you will no longer haf a place at the original school tat ur kid is in.. Yes.. muz explore other way of transfer, which like i mentioned, is to go the the school of choice to see if they have vacancy for your kid to be transferred.
