$100/hr is really steep for primary standard and only one subject! It’s important to take note of what the tutor can offer instead of just looking at market rate though. Some tutors are passive, and they only go through assessments with the child. Sit there the whole there and invigilate the child. But some tutors are really passionate, and take the initiative to come up with their own curriculums, buy school textbooks and such to understand what the schools are teaching. These are the tutors who deserve to command more.

Agree. It is not just the qualifications that count. It is the quality of the tuition time that is important as well. Each lesson must be geared towards meeting the needs of each individual child. There may not be many distinctions to boast about, but that the child has truly learned.

              Dear parents

Does your child need help in primary school Maths and/or Science ?
With more than 7 years tutoring experience of primary school Maths and Science, I believe I can help your child in his/her studies.

              Let me briefly introduce myself.
I am an experienced and patient full time lady tutor specialise in primary school Maths and Science. I provide one to one tutoring at my residence (Bedok). Being well versed in Singapore education system and current syllabus, I have helped students with borderline passes to achieve A grades.

I only conduct 1 to 1 coaching as this is definitely more effective than classroom teaching, especially for slow learners. Customised Maths worksheets are provided to students who are especially weak in particular topics so as to provide more intensive practices. There is no hidden fees, like materials fees or deposit.

Please do not hesistate to contact me via email [email protected] or PM me for a no obligation discussion or further clarifications/ enquires.

haha true true... but i think cos JC level..they need to get into local university...so the few thousands spent on tuition is worth it... (from a parent's point of view) !

Sometimes need to look at the students' profile as well. Some students are already doing relatively well, in a good JC and motivated. Of course it is easy to help them achieve distinctions.

My friend is paying $70/hr. She says that the tutor is a JC teacher. Is this the standard rate?
