Guys, I’m amazed how you guys can do it…ie stay so positive and calm with days to the PSLE. Whenever i discuss our work plan with my DD, i become more stress and also stress her up. I try to leave her to own revision, but i feel insecure not being in the known. I am trying v hard to control my emotions, a little like split personality…evil mum, good mum, evil mum, good mum…haha!

There’s still quite a bit to cover, like learning Chinese words, vocab, go through science weak areas, how do you incorporate all these in this week? Appreciate any advice?

Yes, there is still quite a fair bit to cover...like my son's weak areas in CL Comprehension OE, 短文填空, EL Comprehension OE needs brushing up too.
I adopted dual personality too...like you mentioned, being evil and caring.

I use one day for 1 subject...for eg, English today. Chinese tomorrow. By the end of this week, I would have been able to cover all 4 plus another '1/2 cycle'. This weekend will be packed before I slowly let go next Mon.

I told dd to stay at home this week to do her own revision but she refused. She said she want to play and talk to her friends in school. So I just let her be.

Actually I am more worry about my Sec2 ds. SA2 starts next week and he still bo-chap!

These 2 1/2 weeks are reserved for my son...but hubby & I will still coach younger one. Come Oct 3, time is exclusively for my P2 gal
She has streaming...just do whatever we can with her :frustrated: :imdrowning:

I apply Bo chap mentality at times, and when I am tense up..I try to remember 'silent is golden'. I tend to say all the negative and demotivating word when I worry...thus it may affect dd mood in a bad way, so rather shut up and entertain my younger one sing 'twinkle twinkle little star' and watch Disney junior. Over focus may lead to unnecessary worry. Dd school gv lots of work and she said they'll check and revise in school. So I'll let her decide on her study pattern. She prefers to go to school and attend all the supps without fails, she said it beneficial to get news & updates from teachers & friends...while i am all ears at KSP. They also jokes around and play in school to reduce the tension of exam. In this last lap, we have to have faith in them...that way they know they are responsible for their own future, hence work to their best effort. Easier to said than done, but I am trying & hoping it works. Jia you & keep calm mummies :rahrah:

DS is in a calm relaxed state now. Still got his 2nd round of prelims. Today Math, tmr Science. We just take these as practice sessions. I shared with him that my expectations is not on the marks but on application of exam techniques & processes that will help him focus, comprehend and minimize carelessness. I really believe that the more he focuses on strategies, the more the learning can be applied. It’s always a balance between over-doing and keeping well-toned before the big day.

I’m happy that he has been doing his own revision with a little prompting from me. He self-marks and analyzes his gaps and decides what he wants to focus on. We’re targeting mainly on Time Management and Using of exam strategies. So far I see he’s on track. I’m ensuring he doesn’t get "je-lak" over these exam practices. We skip meaningless homework now.

Over the weekend, we went swimming and got him a new bicycle - in preparation for post-psle enjoyment!! He was most happy and his daddy even brought him to Bishan park yesterday to test out his new bike!!

For those mums that are planning to let their kids stay at home -how do you write the letter of excuse to the teacher? Just tell them the kids are doing revision at home?

PSLE is exactly 10 days away. :nailbite: 😓

For now till 27 Sep, what we are doing now is to focus on all the weak areas. My main job now is to ensure my dd sleeps at 10pm sharp, eats healthy food, drinks lots of fluids and stay positive.

I am glad to see that she has emerged to be someone responsible for herself - she takes charge of her revision and anything she is unsure of, she will check with me or asks her teachers the very next day to clarify her doubts. I know she is very anxious too cos the teachers also doing the countdown for them in school.

That's why I try to keep a calm exterior, make sure our home is cosy, her study area is conducive for her to revise and give her lots and lots of hugs and kisses before she goes to bed every night.
