If you are a SAHM, then it's not.... but if you are a FTWM you can't even have a decent day off on Sunday cos your FW helper is having hers.... in this case, a FTWM is a worse job than a FW domestic helper... this could just be one of the reasons that the yuppies generation are delaying their motherhood....

I hold a different view. People these days (even my era) expect a lot more & unwilling to forgo their lifestyle for kids/more kids.

All those policies have further tightened all FTWMs' hands, legs and minds.. Just wonder how to have more babies?, how not to have tuition and how to further work with piece of mind? :slapshead:
FTWM was my pre-SAHM life - it's like a clown juggling balls. Realized that no one can be superwoman. Impossible. Can't have both worlds without strong support from parents who can help in logistics and education. But very few women have such support. How to juggle demanding job and a harsh, punishing education system at the same time.
If I were still a FTWM, my wish list is simple - first and foremost, all teachers please teach properly what will be tested in exams and PSLE, and not give parents surprises in exams, don't recommend us to turn to tuition. Don't teach 50-60% knowledge and come out with a paper requiring 100% knowledge. Including PSLE. To enable that, please train the teachers properly. Beyond that, a balanced life for the kids. Like ACSJ as mentioned in newspapers, Mon and Thur no homework day - let the kids read, play or go outdoors reduce myopia. Max 2 hours homework per day for homework days. Happy kids= happy mums =happy FTWMs = Productivity = Golden Goose that lays golden eggs for the country whole year round :evil:
Most of my friends have only 1-2 kids. Some like u mentioned, have everything settled for them (educated grandparents who help to look after the kids, coach & ferry the grandchildren in cars to Sch & tuition, a maid that most of us will envy, earns good good $) but still won't give birth to more.
Perhaps some do want more but due to certain unfavorabke factors decide to stop......but equally, many others will just simply quote all sorts of excuses but in actual fact, unwilling to give up their lifestyle. It's really a personal choice, nothing much the govt can do. I'm one :oops:
B4 my kids, I wanted 4. After 2 kids, I am reluctant to give up my current lifestyle for #3 even tho I do at times wish for another baby to hold. But if it happens, I probably will keep the baby....but to deliberately plan another is out of the question. -

How to train to do homework fast? Hmm.. I used to \"challenge\" my dd when she was in lower primary to see who can solve a Maths question faster and accurately. My boy spends one hour on dinner. 20min just to drink his cup of milo in the morning. How to eat hearty breakfast? Breakfast is on the go when walking to school as I want to give him that extra 10min sleep. He sleeps at 10.15pm and wales up at 610am . Not even 8 hours.
I guess probably all these years of \"training\" , she tends to do her homework quickly as she wants to play or read her fav book afterwards.
Listing down all her homework for the day helps also. She can clearly see what she has to complete and she usually put a timing to it. When she completes one homework, she would put a big tick at the side. -

Once married lifestyle change.
After married, give birth to kids, lifestyle will change again. Have to wake up wee hours to feed baby, have to change nappies. -
