Are you an ugly Singaporean parent?
-
agree with verykiasumummy… well, think I will have to choose 4+6 then…
-
*I am open to suggestions.
*I still believe that my child should look presentable before sitting for any exam.
*I do not need teachers to give him 1-1 before or after school. But I hope teachers do not ask son’s tutors to coach him for homework given.
As long as there is open communication, I am fine with it.
*If son is part of a group in class which is punished for something, I close 2 eyes. -
I would choose option 4, but I dare say so far I have not shown any ugly side to any of my kids’ teachers.
I feedback about some of the school policies previously (due to unfairness which even the teacher-in-charge was aware), but I still accepted that the school has the right to decide on how they want to conduct enrichment and I as a parent just have to accept the unfariness if they do not want to change the policies. If there is anything, my kids got to learn that not everything is fair or equal in this world. -
I can be ugly, when I forget to be gracious/cool/calm/am stressed or in a hurry.
I am \"prettier\" when my child is around me.
must set good example mah.... -
No, I am not.
It takes a village to raise a child. The school and its teachers is one of the most important pillars in my children’s formative years. I actively engage their teachers with a win win approach. In grey areas, I start on the premise that the teachers must have a good reason for their actions, and I give them the benefit of a doubt. So far, we have it good. We have been blessed with good teachers. -

in extreme situation when even the principal does not acknowledge a problem and did not deem fit to even respond to a parent whose child is being bullied - did the extreme : transfer out the child
-
I choose option 3 but a corrected version.
Yes and no. My ugly side is depending on the teacher.
I know when to be ugly and when to be pretty, depends on what type of teachers I encounter. -

I totally agree with you. We have been blessed with good teachers too. Some might think that our good teachers are not so good but they are wonderful teachers to my kids and us. Praise the teachers more than criticise them. All human beings need to be praised. No, I am not.

Just curious vk, why didn't you advise the child how to \"protect\" himself?
That was what my siblings did when I was a target of a bully. Recently a colleauge's kid was also a bully's target. She try to teach her kid how to fend off the bully.
What makes the parent decides that pulling the kid out is the more appropriate way?
