I should have some 'fangs/claws' around.....tho they are really blunt cos I have yet to sharpen any of them for use. Think partly cos I belong to the 'old school' who believe that kids should respect their teachers AND a bit of scolding won't die.....so stop whining (refering to my kids )

That was what my siblings did when I was a target of a bully. Recently a colleauge's kid was also a bully's target. She try to teach her kid how to fend off the bully.

What makes the parent decides that pulling the kid out is the more appropriate way?

Depends on situations. Could be ugly parent, if the teacher behaved like that teacher in childcare who ill-treat kids.
