Working parents, how do you help your child with homework?

Working parents who :

a) finds that 2hrs every night not enough for homework/revisions ; and
b) kids who has tuition/enrichment classes over the weekends

how do you find the extra time to catch-up and do some R&R activities?

I need some advise… coz i am feeling so worn out trying to find more time… Thanks…

I only have about an hour with my girl on weekdays, then must chase her off to the routine before sleep, e.g. drink milk, fruits, brushing teeth etc....

Weekends are meant to go through the more heavy duty stuff, but if she refuses to cooperate at times, then the time will be easily wasted

I never help with homework. If DD cannot do something, I just want her to give her best and that’s it. How will the teacher know her weakness if her teacher thinks she’s getting them correct?


I recall there was once she got the lowest marks in compo. Her teacher gave some nasty comments. I was appalled - u don’t teach, yet you expect greatness?

Anyway, she scored one of the highest marks by the end of the year. I suspect that other kids were helped, hence why they did "better". Even her present teacher realises that and now they no longer have compo as homework. She doesn’t want a sudden shock during exams to learn that a child who has been scoring well for compo may actually be weak.

I help my child by identifying weaknesses and zooming in thru exam papers etc. but not homework.

i used to take leave ocassionally to help her on her work… i do suggest working mothers to switch to a family-friendly work place… my boss used to allow me to work from home n i was able to keep a lookout on my kids every now and then…

having a family friendly company is very impt… sad to say that not many companies and bosses like him around…
