That was my main complain. Mine is the Z by the way. I have since resorted to using machine just for kneading and rising. Thereafter, I bake it in my normal oven.

I have also stopped following the recipes in the recipe book that comes with the machine. The breads that I make from those recipes do not stay soft. I usually bake at night, it is wonderful fresh out of the oven but by the following morning, it is not as soft or fluffy and by that afternoon, I find myself preferring to toast the bread.

Agreed with Funz. I stop using my Z Machine to bake my bread after I discovered the wonder of using my oven to bake. I can get supersoft bread after that. No longer need to purchase my bread from stores. I also don’t use the recipe from my bread machine.

If you don’t have oven you might want to try this chocolate loaf recipe below. The bread is very soft too. Do adjust the amount if your bm is of small capacity.
              Ingredient
1 egg mixed with water to 225ml
              100ml fresh milk
              450g bread flour
              1 tbsp cocoa powder
              1 1/2tsp salt
              40g caster sugar
25g butter (cut into small cubes)
              1 1/2tsp yeast
              100g chocolate chips
              Steps:
Put in the ingredients into the bread pan in the above order except the choco chips.
Put the choco chips when the signal is given by the machine
              Use soft or medium crust
Once ready, take the loaf out from bread machine immediately & let it cool completely before cutting
Keep any balance in airtight container or sealed plastic bag

Hehe making bread actually quite simple but the time taken is very long as need to spend a lot of time kneading, proofing and resting the dough before baking. Anyone interested in the recipe can let me know 🙂

Very true, I use my oven to bake bread. My bread maker is white elephant for 2 years. Not even sure if still can use.

Normally how long can yr loaf of bread last? Mine only last 3 days after that will turn mouldy. So need to make bread twice a week in order to have bread everyday. Time is what I don’t have. Not sure why gardenia bread or sunshine bread can last 5 to 6 days without turning mouldy.

Theirs probably include a lot of preservative to absorb moisture and prevent it from turning mouldy. Mine doesn't turn mouldy after 3 days if I keep it in a dry place or inside the fridge but the texture will not be as soft as the first day of course.
