Hi verykiasumummy
He will help out but only in play section! He will play chess with my #2 or bring them to skating, cycling.. My dh does read to my 3yo but not sure if it's habitual or, he still needs me to read to him before he sleep. But hor, I think my story reading skill is much better than my dh.. that's why! sometimes, before my 3yo sleeps, he zzz first. :slapshead:
Anyway, my working hours are standard.. unlike him. The only thing school work that he's more involve with the kids are only giving spelling!
Hmmm...sounds familar...... -
very tough for working parents. if only companies impose a 7hr per day workweek instead… just like the song goes "working 9 to 5" …

I wish this comes true.... -
agree

to all parents out there, u may wish to learn from word of mouth to see which company offers good family support and flexibility… at the end of the day, its not the job that counts, its the childhood that we miss
-
or try a part-time job to let out more time spent with kids…
i used to spend time on my biz but after which i realise that my kids are more impt than anything in the world… nothing that money can buy at all… -

This is not going to help. The corporate culture has to change. Companies can state working hours but if the boss loads the staff and staff has to complete the work within the time frame it's back to square one. Long hours and cannot leave on time.
Bosses will continue to press on their staff to achieve their KPI, resulting in no work life balance. -

Agree.. thats why i said \"if only\".. Sigh.. Most companies cutting costs, resulting not hiring replacements but to distribute the load among existing staff. If not, the timelines and workload distribution is simply absurd. Even if parents leave work on time, they bring work home. Plus have to supervise kids work, really not enough time for revisions. Everyday is a rush. Plus with the moe \"teach less, learn more\" nonsense, its simply ridiculous.Yong HL:

Although i need not bring back work home nor work overtime, i start my daily homework time with my daughter at 8pm and target end by 9.30pm. With this 1.5hr time slot, its still very tight esp when i need explain concepts. Its nightmare if the thing gets postpone day after day!!

that's why u need a weekend to go thru all of them instead of accumulating per week...
i'm not too sure if any mum is as kiasu as me... i hate procrastinating anything but sometimes if out of no choice, i will keep a fri night free to go thru all the outstanding with my kids and make them sleep later at 11pm.. though a little cruel but no choice.. and i used to get excuses frm my ds such as wrksheet given back to teacher, book is with teacher or etc... i make sure i make a copy of all the things that i didnt go thru and keep in outstanding tray.. they know i wun forget...
and yes, i bought a copier machine back home for this purpose!!
